20 years ago I saw the Cars in concert. They were superb. Unfortunately, Wang Chung were the openers. Can you say Wang Dung?

What do you expect out of a one-hit wonder band?

If NO or JD hadn't existed, then I seriously doubt Fat Bob Smith and his Cureheads would have lasted 25 months let alone another 25 years!!!!

According to the Guinness Book of UK hit singles it didn't - it got to number 31. They had to wait until 1983 before YET ANOTHER NEW ORDER RIP OFF could get them into the top 20 for the first time ever........The Walk. Sorry to spoil your day mate.

the Smiths, Gene or the Wedding Present...but something in my heart of herats would have longed for a group...you know..capable of seamlessly mixing alternative rock with disco with pop, with a cracking bass, an excellent drummer, and a great singer.. the kind of group that takes your soul and sends it 15 feet high

I voted for The Fall, not just because they are from Manchester, but for their incredible output (i think they are up to album No. 26). Anybody heard their new album "The Real New Fall LP (Formerly Country On The Click)"? I can't find it here in Australia.
