Conan, meet "Walker, Texas Ranger"

Don't know if anyone else has mentioned this, but the past two weeks of Conan O'Brien (when it's been new) are worth catching for one reason and one reason only...due to NBC's merger with Universal (which owns the USA network, which in turn owns "Walker, Texas Ranger"), Conan's had a lever installed so he can show clips from "Walker" anytime he wants! :thumb:

Walker, for those not in the know, was Chuck Norris's ultraviolent, but cheesy and family-friendly, show about a karate-kicking cowboy dedicated to bringing down the worst criminals with a trusty chop to the groin. It was laughably bad to begin with, but now that Conan's showing clips of it it's downright hilarious.

Anyway, am I alone here in appreciating the stoic everyman heroics of Chuck "Can't Act His Way Out of A Paper Sack" Norris used for comedic effect?

Is that new, or going back a bit? I was checking the message boards on IMDB.com and they said something about the "Axel Foley" button, I guess that's what you're talking about.

One night Conan revealed that (as well as "Walker"), USA owned "Knight Rider" and proceeded to show clips from each show, sort of competing. The best part was when he went for the "Walker" clip and Chuck Norris was just sitting in front of a fire, reading a book :wtf:

Hysterical

I'm referring to the night Conan unveiled the Walker Texas Ranger lever.

Bit disappointed when he didn't have the lever present last night (would have done wonders to liven up the interview with that "O.C" guy), but I have faith it will be around for a while longer.

You can never have too much "Walker"...'cause the eyes of a Ranger are always on you :singer: :banghead:

The best recent Conan episode has been the one w/ Al Roker, Harlan Williams, and that 750 sumo wrestler. Gotta love Conan fighting comeone 3.5 times his size.

I thought that was pretty good, but Conan getting Tom Selleck to shave off half his mustache was just classic

Last night was singel-handedly the best "pull the lever" yet: One clip featured a phony-looking airplane explosion, another featured a stare-off between some old guy and a "bad guy" which had Conan saying "I thought they were going to start making out or something."

It'll get old after a while, but it's a bit Pavlovian. Love it :thumb:
