they'll be straight back down again. However, I must admit that i have seen all their play off matches and they're not that bad.
Something happened like this in 98. When charlton finished 6th and beat sudnerland, who had finished third, about 25 points clear of fourth in the final.

It's even more ridiculous in the Conference: second place (unpromoted) Hereford finished a dozen points ahead of Shrewsbury, but it's the Shrews who go up. I think play-offs are completely fucking stupid. They might prolong the "excitement" by another week or two, but they hardly reward consistent seasons, do they?
