Getting this down to 20 was next to impossible, I must say. Your favourites may not be on the list, but what do I care? I almost sneaked in Orange Juice's "Blue Boy" to see if anyone would notice, but that can be saved for another poll, another day.....

At the risk of being laughed at, I chose U2 because I think that song is one of their very best singles. It all went downhill from there...

I loved U2...until they put out the Joshua Tree...it's been crap since then...in my opinion!!!
Oh my, another one that's gonna be a bit hard to narrow down, DOA. 
In my frame of mind, I'm torn between Magazine, cause I just love the last line of that song "I got tired of counting all of these blessings............and then I just got tired" and The Pop Group, though the latter's She Is Beyond Good And Evil is right up there as well.
Flight's great, Nag Nag Nag is as well, the Josef K is too, and Blue Boy is a total classic in every sense of the word, still sounds great today.

Almost voted for U2. Almost. Great fucking song. Too bad Eno fucked them up. They have not had a decent album since Red Rocks.

Anyone else got the 2 CD Kleenex/Liliput retro on Kill Rock Stars? It's possibly genius, but tough going too.

I omitted "A Forest" because I think it's better on the LP with "The Final Sound". "Charlotte Sometimes" was considered but I reckoned it wasn't quite good enough to make the 20. Besides which if the album poll is anything to go by The Cure probably would have won, and that would be no fun.
And "Kick in the Eye"? Bollocks, I forgot all about it! Actually, I did nearly have the "Bela Lugosi" 12" in the list, but cut it out.
Still, you can't please everyone (and why the fuck should I? It's my poll, you can all fuck off, I'm not playing anymore, etc, etc).
Actually, rather than shoe-gazing I would be more likely dancing like a twat (or, as age advances, someone's dad at a wedding).

Yes. Not easy to find. If yr in London best bet is Sister Ray/Selectadisc or Tower usually has a copy. Tower do it mail order, also there appear to be some 2nd hand copies va Amazon here :

Damn right on that one, just about fell asleep at one of their shows after the change, went cause the g/f wanted to see 'em (ok, Shriekback was also playing). Only old thing they did was Love Song *sigh*, the rest of it, I was staring at the ceiling, and then my eyelids for awhile.
