Really sad news this is, he's a legend!! My own initial memories of Ray Charles come from listening to Animals covers of 'I believe to my soul', 'mess around', 'talkin bout you' and 'hallelujah I love her so' and learning about the influence he had on some of the British R&B artists of the 60s.

Thought he was older though

one things for sure,he will be banging on his old joanna in heaven. it would be nice to see a life story of ray,after all he lived and performed through some of the most interesting times in modern music. rest in peace m8

I was truly saddened to hear about Ray Charles (more so than I was Ronnie Reagan). Growing up with an oldies station out of Atlanta, I got to hear a lot of the man. He influenced everybody to some degree, and it all leads back to him and Little Richard.
