Your favourite football-related song

I know there's loads more unofficial ones out there, but I'll leave them to you to mention. Just a few comments on this years crop:

'Born In England' This is so shit. Get a bunch of Oasis-inspired, unwashed student bands together & cause a racist row, must have been the directions for Twisted X. It's laughable that 'Cold Feet' thespian James Nesbitt sings "BOOOOORN IN ENG-ER-LAND" when he is in fact Northern Irish. Totally below-average, sounding as below-average as all these below-average guitar bands that come on the scene every week that guys from the NME & Planet Sound seem to drool over

'Come On England' This is also very bad, but a very slight improvement on Twisted X. A load of commercial radio presenters massacering 'Come On Eileen', while on the video shoot, the two female DJs mime badly & show us their baps (almost)

'All Together Now 2004' Fantastic, possibly the best football-related song of all-time in my opinion. I like what Peter Hooton said that the FA wanted something that encourages nations to be friendly to one another, rather than just another full-throttle, in-your-face, nationalistic piece of tripe. It was a good song back in 1990, & fortunately it hasn't been over-remixed.

The remix of World In Motion is a great footie tune (if not exactly classic NO,but hey-it wasnt meant to be!). Good point about The Farm though.

Indeed, some of these might be utter shite, but, in comparison to any American football song, WIM is far better.

Got to be Ireland's attempt to outdo England in 1990, by getting U2 to do one. "Put 'em Under Pressure", with dodgy Jack Charlton quotes and a guitar line lifted from The Horslips.... great track otherwise though
