A bit late in the day, but The Rapture's "Echoes" is well worth £12 of anyone's money: think '82-'84 period New Order meets ACR and PIL. I don't throw these reference points around lightly, either.

Go buy.:thumb:

Yeah. I heard songs off that album, say it for €15 (£10ish) on vinyl, bought it, and brought it home, only to discover the turtable is broken.

seems like another reason to get it fixed

"house of jealous lovers" is on erland oyes "dj kicks" - another cd well worth the buy (its very different from royskopp and the kings of convenience).

I heard some samples of their music, but it didn't strike me as anything special. In fact, I thought they were pretty crap. We'll see if my opinion changes after seeing them at Curiosa.

Got the album and like it - only thing that narks me a bit is the singers occasional Robert Smith-like whine.

I like bands with a silent C in their name.

Can't say I like The Rapture myself; Sister Saviour's the only song of theirs that I thought was any cop.

there was a song by pil that came out many years ago that sounds like 80% of that album
