Well, nothing really i can say now... Im too busy (finally) getting drunk , I can only say one thing: "Awwwwww I was so right i ve loooooooved footy all my life!!!"

Well done Greece I was a nervous wreck for the last 30 plus minutes, but it was worth it. Damn right you need to celebrate this victory Of the 100 or so in the pub watching the match, only about 15 were pulling for you, myself included. It was a great thing to watch, had some curry and Stella for lunch, the sun is shining, the roads were deserted due to the holiday weekend, plus I picked up the NewOrderStory DVD as well. Top day all the way around.

All I have to say is DESERVED! Bollocks to all the "underdog" and "suprise" talk, the best team won. End of.

And to see Ronaldo cry like a baby at the end made the night complete...

Well, gee, "thanks" guys! Anyway, congrats to our greek friends, you deserved it! It was great to see everyone celebrating in the Lisbon streets in the end!

Ernst Happel (sorry if i spell t wrong) has said: "Football is the most important of life's insignificant things" . Come to think of it, i m not even 100% sure if he's the one who said it, but whoever did, he cant be more right than that!

Having that in mind always, and now that im starting to actually realise for good what the Greek squad has achieved in this tournament, i d like to say a couple of things that (for me at least) sum up the whole story:

• Nothing in life is a miracle, no matter how it may seem sometimes. Charisteas didnt become Van Nistelroy, Zagorakis never was or will be Viera and Karagounis wont be Nedved, no matter how blond he may dye his hair. But these lads, you could see it clearly in their eyes, they believed they could beat anyone. And they 've done everything in their power to do so.

• Yeah, they didnt play any kind of "sexy" or spectacular football, but thats the only thing they could ever do under the circumstances, being who they are and facing these opponents they had to face. But the unity, passion and devotion they displayed was as spectacular as some of Zidane's moves on the field.

• Whats more important than all is that they have proved that if you do work under a certain plan and an inteligent guidance by the captain ( again mr Otto), and you dont place your little self above your team-mates, then success is already yours. I dont know if he world needed this lesson, but being a Greek myslef and l having lived all my life in this coutry, i sure know too well, that we Greeks needed it !!!

• And that was another reason all Greece didn’t sleep last night. Not just cos we got a cup (which after all is nothing of real value in our everyday life), but cos we now have no doubt that we too can do things that really count as well. And that confidence, we do owe it to these boys :) .

Because, the insignificant things are also needed in life. And because, when ure afraid that u might wake up to realize it was all a dream, and then u remember its all real, this is one of the most amazing feelings….

Congratulations! You did it! I was so nervous i coludn´t stay in front of the TV for a long time so couldn´t watch all the game...though i forced me to watch the last 15 minutes...I think I become a greek myself while watching it

Football is a team game. Sometimes people forget this with their eulogising of star individual players. It is very rare to see a total team effort along the lines of those shown by Greece in this tournament. Rehhagel had plans, several plans, and his team made sure they came to fruition. It is unusual to see players who can carry out the instructions of their manager so efficiently. Zagorakis got it right when he said it was the whole of Greece who had won the tournament. Now for a summer of celebrating success, culminating in the greatest contest of individual sporting abilities. It is fitting that Greece should win such a prestigious team event in an Olympic year, even moreso that the Olympics have returned home.

Well done!! they did a fantastic job of humbling some of the top footballing nations in the world on the way to the final, so they deserve all the applause they get!

And to think that if you had of asked any England supporter during the group stage who would you want in the 1/4's the answer would invariably have been.. Greece!! its a funny old game aint it ;)

And we'd still want it that way, because the Greece style of defence is one that English players are used to, and one against which we actually have useful weapons. Heskey (heavens forbid !) would actually have been useful against Dellas and co.

But they are strongest from set pieces and we are notoriously weak defending them. I agree we do score a lot of goals, and as the Russians proved the Greeks werent so effective when they went behind.
