next in a continuing line of outing influences of new bands (see razorlight)

i say that the open are massive icicle works fans. check out the 4th track on the promo single of never enough (eek a cure song title!) for the most blatant steal.

still, love to finally get around to seeing them.

The Icicle Works. I haven`t heard of them since i was a kid. They did an ace record,but can only remember the first few lines of the song. Anyone help with this?:

"It was some time after midnight,i was lookin for a friend, my headlights lit her body by some pine trees on a bend"

Probably not exactly right,but if anyone knows what im on about,cheers!

That's "Evangeline". It's a stunning and hypnotic song indeed.

Oh, and Ian McNabb of The Icicle Works has been doing the festival circuit this year - in fact, BBCi showed a bit of his Glasto set including Evangeline!

apparantly in wolverhamptn he did a cover of "i believe in a thing called love" in full falsetto!
