alright, this is it. next sunday we´ll know who is the new champion of the Copa América: Brazil or Argentina.

this is how they got to the final game:

Groups: Argentina 6 - Ecuador 1 Argentina 0 - México 1 Argentina 4 - Uruguay 2

Brazil 1 - Chile 0 Brazil 4 - Costa Rica 1 Brazil 1 - Paraguay 2

Quarterfinals: Argentina 1 - Perú 0 Brazil 4 - México 0

Semifinals: Argentina 3 - Colombia 0 Brazil 1 - Uruguay 1 (Brasil won 5-3 in penalty kicks)

Argentina made 14 goals (Saviola top striker with 3) and Brazil made 11 (Adriano top striker with 6). both teams received 4 goals. both managers can use all their players since they don´t have any suspensions for 2 yellow cards or red cards. although Saviola and D´Alessandro are still recovering from injuries and may not play for Argentina on the final match. Brazil don´t seem to have any injure players so far.

now you tell me who´s gonna win. i can´t do it. i´m too nervous! :nervous:

Neither country won their group, not sure what you can read into that.

Any truth in the rumour that in the event of a draw, extra time and penalties will not be used? Instead the quality of diving, feigning injury and appeals to get another player carded will be taken into account.

 Cynical Clive, cynical (pun naturally intended)

I have a Brazil top but not an Argentina one Alejo, if you want to send me one I will support Argentina though:thumb: The last time I wore an Argentina top I nearly got murdered by 300 angry England fans in our local pub. Luckily for me England won 1-0 thanks to a dubious penalty. The last time I wore the Brazil top was when they beat England 2-1 in the World cup QF. No word of a lie:D

Adriano has been magic, not bad for a guy who wouldn't have played had the manager chosen the European based players. It should be a cracking game, may the best team win, but if I was to stick ma neck out I'd say a 3-1 win for Brazil:beer:

Even better! I was under the impression all the group games had been shown around 11pm over here?!

 Most of the games either kicked off at 11.00 or 1.45am, but there have been a couple of 9.00pm kick offs.

Busy weekend then, Celtic v Chelsea 9pm KO Saturday night on Setanta, then the Argentina v Brazil game Sunday. Wahooooooo:D

Brazil played awfully last night, the guys were lost in the field. Hope they put their heads in its proper place and concentrate on Sunday.

We have never taken Copa América seriously, which is a shame, it is a very important competition, in my opinion.

Time to win this one. But hopefully without 3 penalties goals like last time.

Anal Bruv, anal.

I only caught a couple of them, the Uruguay v Paraguay game was ace, same with the Brazil v Costa Rica 2nd half. Our Sky Sports runs out at the end of the month - so we timed it well for the freebies:D

A year to the day we was marching up the staircase of the seahawks stadium and were arguing about footie again! happy days!

As I said my missus insists on seeing all of the Copa America.... im certainly not arguing, as long as the fridge is stocked with beer we are both happy ;)

I wasn't being entirely serious, Alejo... ;)

I can enjoy this game as a neutral, I really don't mind who wins.

as a neutral.... hmmm, that i can´t do. i generally want one of the teams to win and i become a sudden fan of that team i choose. you know, sort of an additional motivation to watch any game. because i watch almost every game on telly!

what a game!! Sorry Almanso...I had Argentina winning...only lost $20US though...2 goals in the last 8 minutes...fantastic.

I still hate shootouts...the game should be settled on the field in my opinion.
