Based on the lyrics to a few songs off the Mescalaro's last album, he also had a thing for "acid tests". I swear, three or four songs mention "acid test" alone on the album. Bit distracting, Joe, especially as I always end up thinking about the "Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test" when I hear that.

Back to topic (I think): Listened to the Clash a lot these past few weeks, don't know why. Must be just what I was in the mood for (now it's all Belle and Sebastian and the first Modern Lovers album)

You're pretty much right with all the locations you mention Spenser , Strummer's dad was a diplomat , Joe was born in Ankara ;Turkey , he spent his first 18 month there , followed by stints in Cairo ,Mexico and west Germany , he was also educated in Epsom , England.
As for the album Earthquake Weather , it acquired that name after four earthquakes interupted its recording at the Baby O studio in Hollywood , one of the out-takes features the engineer shouting ' Earthquake,Zander ' , Zander Schloss dropped his guitar mid solo and got out. Strummer felt earthquake weather suited the mood as well as conditions

Great CD! I just recently had this CD in my car stero for two weeks and was wondering what was up with the "Acid Test". I know the 1st and 7th songs (Can't remeber the names) had it in it.
