Spyware....HELP

This bastard computer has been invaded with spyware, which means it's slower George Dubya at the moment, plus I can't get into my email - as soon as I get into it - the computer resets me to About:Blank and tells me I'm infected:nonono:

I have run spybot and adaware and although they found problems, it still hasn't eradicated everything.

Anyone got any ideas.....other than throwing this fucking computer out the bedroom window?

As Penelope Pittstop would say

"Heyelpppppppp"

Spywareblaster is a good one to have, doesn't actually rid your system of anything, but once it's installed it sits in the background and stops anything nasty getting on.

You're using a firewall, obviously?:skeptic:

Of course, a good way to keep your system clean is to stop visiting all those gay porn sites :evil4:

www.lavasoftusa.com

Go onto this site and click on the link for "ad-aware" , not the "plus" or "professional" versions.

Download it cos it's the bifter! And it's totally free. I'd tried everything including one that cost me 30 quid (pish) until I found this. It is excellent. First time I ran it it found over 500 files/reg keys/data miners/hijack attempts etc.

If you keep updating it (also free), and stay away from Kazza (the biggest source of spyware) you should be fine for good. I don't even get popups now.

Blue Guy - shoved that thing of yours on my computer - it lasts for 5 days before I have to pay.....unfortunately I ain't got a bean, so that's not gonna work me ole cocker spaniel::):

Twisty - tried that thing of yours - deleted what looked like dodgy files.....still feck all matey.

Mr F good to see you about - I have ad-aware 6 running, and no matter how many times it gets rid of the files (usually 12) I reboot and run it again to find another 12.

I have been on this fucker since 7 this morning and have had more caffeine than a columbian baron.

I am beginning to see things floating about the room, and ma heid's bangin.

Cheers for the help - I will try that site G and see what I can find. I hope I can get this sorted - cos the Celtic v Roma game is on at 1 this morning.....and I really wanna be able to watch it:beer:

Just checked it G, same thing I've already got - and it's still not letting me into my email accounts, it keeps reverting to about:blank page......same as when I look for windows updates - as soon as I get to the downloading bit - it switches to the about:blank page:mad:

It seems I can browse the internet ok - just not ma email, but I don't know what will happen to the system if I stay online. FECK!

Thanks again Blue Guy:thumb:

You have to be careful with all this spyware floating around, Shug. These computer hackers know everything. It's already common knowledge on the internet that you have a very small penis, only one testicle, & that your birthname is Mavis Iscariot....

Not bad for you gayboy.

I tell you how bad things are, it's 5 to 2 in the morning and I'm listening to the Celtic v Roma game on audio.....fer some reason windows media won't let me watch the game it keeps saying class not registered:cry:

What a fucking day I've had.

Oh and to make matters worse, we're trailing 1-0 Francessco Spitti, sorry, Totti. Half Time.

Swines that they are......as my old friend Rab C would say.

1-0 it finished, dived round ma Uncles for the second half - thank fuck he was up! We were all over them, but didn't have the shots to match our possesion, if the ball had fallen to Pearson's left foot in the last minute we would have had a deserved draw. It's now 3.15 and I'm foowked. It's been a long day!

Chances are you need a DivX codec to decode the stream. Go to http://www.divx.com and click on the "DivX" link below where it says "Choose Your DivX Software" to install the free plug-in. You get a player as part of the deal, but you'll probably never use it as the plug-inshould make Media Player work for everything you want to watch anyway.

Ok. Seems I spoke to soon. I'm having exactly the same problem as the Shugmeister. I log onto Hotmail, type my password, hit enter, get about 1 second of the main page then it switches to about:blank. It only happens on Hotmail though and (bizzarely)peterkay.co.uk!!!

It's a right pain in the tits. I'm currently posting all my logfiles on the Ad-aware support forums but nobody seems to have a solution. They've escalated me to the Hijack This forum so hopefully I might have it sorted soon.

Shug, are u making sure your ad-aware is updated? They release about one new update every three days at the mo. Also, could you do me a favour and tell me if it happens to you on peterkay as well? Ta.

Hello matey - just tried Peter Kay and exactly the same thing happened!

Right, you listening carefully me ole fruitcake....

Download Spywareblaster from the link that Clive put up above, once you've done that - go to http://www.download.com and download Mozilla - use that as your internet browser instead of Microsoft IE6. It's a pain in the arse and you have to get used to a different set up, but at least you can get yer hotmail and I just tried Peter Kay on this browser and had nae problems.

Unfortunately this won't get rid of yer problem, but as long as yer not using the Microsoft browser - there should be no further problems. I am hoping her cousin is gonna take a look at this computer in the next week or two, so if he fixes it - I'll let you know what to do.

Sorted and pucker, and cheers for all the help lads, muchos gracias an all that:thumb:

Did that mate - but when I tried to play the Celtic Roma game from Celtic's site, it still comes up class not registered on Windows Media:nonono: I can't watch any of the Celtic stuff available. Total bast it is!
