Haven't heard this.
Some character Ole Big Ed, I remeber ma dad and Uncle Pat telling me the story of how they travelled to Nottingham the day Celtic played Forest in the European Cup - they bumped into Mr Clough outside the ground and begged for tickets, he knew they weren't Forest fans with their accents and asked what their names were and where they came from. Once he heard SLUDDEN he asked if they were related to John Sludden, (Our cousin) who had just been on trial with Forest.
Needless to say he stumped up a couple of tickets. The man is a legend. And we can partly thank him for turning Martin O'Neil into the manager he is today.
RIP Indeed.
Aye, RIP. One of the great managers of all time. Just look at the rise and fall of forest to see that.

Footballwise a legend but in his son's words 'a fool'.
I've enjoyed reading the columns he's written for FourFourTwo, don't know much about things as mentioned in the post above. RIP.

That says it all. We'll never know what he could have done as England manager, but those of us who saw him on ITV footie programmes will never forget his "that young man's beginning to annoy me" put downs of fellow pundits such as Mick Channon (at least, I think it was Channon). Genius.
