Which media player do you use?

I used Winamp for years, until I gave Windows Media Player (8 if I remember well) a good try because I enjoyed the media library capacities which Winamp didn't have at the moment..

I had to switch back to Winamp due to problems with my former computer, the latest version was not so bad, but I had an "empty feeling" using it.. when I upgraded my computer I got back to Windows Media Player 9, not perfect, but does the job.

However, I just switched to Windows Media Player 10, I must say I'm really happy they FINALLY added 2 features I wanted for YEARS in a media player (Winamp had one, I guess you could find a plugin for the other one)... cross-fading and volume "normalizing"...

A Microsoft product everybody can love at last! This one is trully well done, a much better interface than previous versions. Now all I need to do is to find a way to backup the damned media library for the next time I reinstall Windows

Been using WINAMP since beta version 0.8x back in late 95 or some shit like that and I've never looked back! I love WA and will never switch.

I'm a creature of habit.

I LIKE WMP10 but it's still not quite there. I was never really thrilled with the MS WMP but that's life. :thumb:

The only stupidity with WMP is that you can't rip music in mp3 format... only WMA...

That's the only thing forcing me to use third parties.

Winamp is good for audio, but I was not that pleased with the video module...

Well you can always get the 3rd party plugin for WMP to rip MP3s, but what's the point when there are plenty of free and BETTER rippers out there.

I'll agree with you on the viddy module in WA, but I was never really one to watch too many viddys in any form so that doesn't bother me.

But when I do partake in the vids...I use WMP.

Still using WMP 7,which came with the computer. Tried 9 at one point, I was annoyed that there was no uninstall feature on that version, and I couldn't use the Roxio CD creator with that version as well.

Also using the Real player, I'm not constantly playing music or watching videos on the computer, these free programs are good enough for me.

I have Windows Media Player 10, RealPlayer v9.0 (I think), Quicktime and Divx.

Even having all these - I still can't play avi files for some strange reason - they do play, but it stops and starts all the way through, which really pisses one off.

I had winamp a while back and personally I didn't like it.

WMP 9 (can't use 10 as don't have XP) and Winamp, plus Music Match Jukebox 8.2 for copying tapes to HD. Can't abide Real Player, and Quicktime is more trouble than it is worth. Nero 6 for burning CDs.

I don't have XP - so I can't have WMP10 either then - I must have version 8 or something like that. Sometimes I can't believe how bad my memory is. Technology confuses me quite a lot. Honestly.

If anyone would like to send me WM10 with a product key - just gies a shout, never one to pass up a freebie:evil4:

MusicMatch :)

I've tried many others and occasionally use MyMusicPro but always returned to MusicMatch as its never let me down and is clear and simple to use.
