Yeah, I got my hands two weeks ago on the new remixes, plus the new remixes of Halo, Something To Do and This Is The House, and they're all quite good really, minus maybe that Gabriel & Dresden mix of This Is The House, which is just house shit again.
I especially like that Mike Shidoda (Linkin Park) remix. Good stuff.
Yes, the Mike Shidoda mix is good... sounds very Linkin Park...
But still, nothing beats the single version of 1990...

Well seeing Mike Shinoda was involved, it could have been much, much worse. the remix is decent; decent video. When will DM stop releasing boxed crap that won't sell well. I hope they can somehow get together (Violator lineup) and release one more good alubm before they call it quits.
Is the remix set worth buying? I frankly don't care enough to buy remixes of proper songs I already have (especially DM ones), but my roommate may shell out the dollars. I'd be more prone to buying the Devotional DVD myself.
Good call on the Devotional DVD, might add that to the old Xmas list. Should help while away a couple of hours on they year's most boring day.
As for the Violator line-up getting together again, it doesn't look at all likely, unfortunately. I think Alan Wilder just wants to completely distance himself from the band. He was approached to do some interviews etc. for the 101 DVD, but flatly refused. Pity, really.
I use this forum fromthe point of view as a New Order fan, so I'll try and reply to this as such.
The Mike S re-working of 'Enjoy The Silence' is very reminiscent of the Linkin Park song 'Numb'. I felt that Linkin Park could have recorded a longer version of the song (like a 1980s 12" mix),emphasising the piano parts within a longer instrumental section.
So it doesn't surprise me to hear this version of 'Enjoy The Silence' at all. It's slightly less subtle than the original, but if younger fans choose to look into synth-rock music more,it is a good track to release.
The Ewan Pearson remix is not bad by any means either, if you're into house/trance.
As for the remix compilation, there are some glaring ommisions ('Strangelove Maxi-Mix' being one), and some of the mixes are there more because of the remixers names. But there are some quality tracks on there.
The single will probably do better than youmay think, as the originalvideo is already getting TV airplay.
Couldnt care less for the "new" mixes cos they will be the usual house music shite,but itll be worth grabbing the 3 disc set for the older 80s & 90s remixes. Looks like they missed all the Tim Simeon AKA Bomb The Bass mixes though. Considering his remixed nearly all the Violator singles its a really disappointment.
Didn't chance lately but I think a few of them will be there. I know for sure their longest remix ever, the Enhoy The Silence, THE QUAD: FINAL MIX will be on that record.
I remember my excitement when I got to play that mix the first time around... I was very impressed that you could turn a 4 minutes song into a 15 minute epic. 
However, this might be the only good mix from the bunch.
Seriously, I'm tired of the dance/house crap they are doing those days... unless you hear that in a club of course.

Several members of this forum have raised sceptical views on ‘house’ music, which is perfectly understandable, as 95% of it is either below the general music standards set by the likes of New Order, or (even worse), the simulated songs made to be sold through commercial ideologies.
But how many solid guitar records have you (honestly) heard this past year? ‘Mercury’ by Longview is definitely one. There haven’t been many others.
Although I listen to Pete Tong’s, Judge Jules’ and Dave Pearce’s shows every week on BBC Radio 1 (in the UK), most of what I hear is not that great.
But occasionally they pull out some brilliant tracks (usually during their own, more serious mini DJ-sets at the end of their shows). And most of these great 12” tracks of the past twelve months have been trance instrumentals, rather than the more commercial vocal house songs which videos invade your TV screen from every angle.
Given that the BBC Radio 1 bosses still won’t let Depeche Mode back on their playlists, it is testament to the dance music DJs that several ‘Enjoy The Silence’ remixes (including an unofficial instrumental by DA Mode) appeared on their weekend shows on six consecutive weeks.
The single (as a whole) won’t quite be totally outstanding, but there will be something for just about everyone to enjoy, so long as you can appreciate subtlety.
