You got some huge lump of a name?
For years I thought my parents had lumbered me with an archaic middle name - only old gits were called Eamon. Until the start of this year that is. Free name upgrade due to the US charts...
My full name is Iren Yockey Test. In middle school, high school, and college, teachers can't seem to pronounce my name correctly. My name's been pronounced E-ren, Ivan (pronounced both ee-van and eye-van), or Irene. And, for some reason, my college has my first and middle names listed as my first name, so, on the first day of classes, the professors call both my first and middle name. Also, with my last name, aside from various variations on it, people ask, "Is Test really your last name?" or they ask if it's a shortened version of an Eastern European last name. Quite frankly, I'd just like a different biological name.
If I were you, I'd want a different name as well. I want a first name that isn't so common and that can actually be pronounced by British people. Its Cian, which is very common in Ireland now and ALWAYS ends up turning into "Sean". Always. Never met a Brit who can pronounce it right first time.
