How often are you drunk when visiting NOOL?

I've noticed a lot of people are obviously drunk when they post in here. Some of them even reckon it proud to do so. But why? Why should we suffer from those intoxicated heads who just really don't care because they're drunk. I don't understand... You? That is the issue. :confused2:

Please come with clear mind. :thumb:

Some of the best moments here used to be done by the DRUNKS.But now i am OFF the beer most of the time you WOULDN'T know.I talk /type SHITE all the time.I suppose if you want IN-DEPTH conversation the NORMAL side is the BEST.A lot of talk on THIS side is VERY AMERICAN.I enjoy it but don't know what the HELL you lot are on about. But if we started describing the ENGLISH items too much you would probably LEAVE the site NEVER to return again. Some great NOOL's probably only posted SOBER eg HUNTSMAN but alas he is here no more.He would involve PATRICK,BUDVAR,MONSIEUR ROUND and ROUND and HANK and HIBSTER in what could only be described as COMEDY ERRORS.Great banter that has been lost but no doubt this will return once a NEW album and tour commence. We have to tolerate shite here aswell(i DO apologize for my banter) but let everyone have their say.COMMUNITY is here for all of us.Now i just wish TIM was not as FRIENDLY as HE is these days.Must preferred his VICTOR MELDREW.And as for SHUGZV............very quiet now SCOTLAND are even more CRAP at football than RANGERS! Have a nice day...ROCKET MICK

Stop bloody picking on Spike, he is 16 years old for christ's sake, what sort of loser gets off picking on a teenager. I think it's cool that a kid his age is into JD/NO. The rest of us a just ageing old twats compared to him. Give Spike the respect he deserves, he is one of us after all.

How on earth can you say people are obviously drunk , on what do you base this assumption ?

This insight you have can be marketed you know , the guy who may have had one to many drinks after work , the BA pilot who may have had one too many drinks with his lunch , the permutations are endless , basically they can all send you a short e-mail on a subject of your choice and you with what I can only assume is the power of Temperance can discern if they are loaded/pissed/blind drunk or whatever and advise them accordingly , the police can then go about their other business ; unshackled from the obligation to check for drunkenness at the keyboard .

And what is this ' really dont care because they are drunk ' line about ? Really dont care about what ? New Order , life , family or your sensibilities ? You yourself would probably never claim to be a proud drunk , fair enough and so what , in equal measure , those you appear to be takin a moral highground over , seem to me at least , to be celebrating their youth , mid life crisis or born again party going nutter attitude in a way that others of a like mind find funny or at least familiar ... again fair enough and so what in equal measure , they aint draggin you to a bar , they don't insist you agree with them , they don't intend you that much harm .

And dont get onto the dangers of drink and bleedin heart tales , most people have them , most people will know someone a tad fucked up , we probably all have the tee shirt , book and a fookin poster . And I guess most people will let most people make their own choices; and let them run with them , just like they do in most free societies

Brought to you with a VERY open mind , and indeed ; a very CLEAR one.

Cool ya boots mate

Bingo.

And I for one will put my hand up and say I've never been to see New Order sober, at least in part because after the best part of two decades of adoration I'm terrified that - unless hammered - I will realise that they are, in fact, shit.

Mine's a Guinness, and keep 'em coming.;)

This one might answer your question.

And this one too.

And many others I can't remember now.

When you are sober you end up talking about shitty topics such as who will win the 2004 American election.

Usually, when I visit this website after drinking, a good sign that I'm drunk is when I decide to post in the portuguese forum.

 Fuckin Class Sebsy. Spat me coffee at the screen to that!

Some cracking points being made, in my first year of posting on here I'd say roughly 75% of them were done with a cold can of Stella / Carlsberg Ex / Tennants Lager (delete as appropriate) in ma hand, I always used to post when I'd finished the dreaded 2-10 shift at work.

Mind you, that's no excuse for some of my drunken weekend posts at 2 in the morning (after crawling home from a nightclub) There are some really embarrassing posts I did when steaming - but I always thought if I deleted them I'd get slagged, so the warts and all are still there to be seen.

What you see is what you get I'm afraid peeps. Having said that, I very rarely drink during the week these days - fuckin mortgage has seen to that. And JT and GM have hit the nail on the head.....has anyone seen New Order whilst sober? I fookin doubt it!

Now Drugs.....that's a different matter;)

I'm trying to fathom out your name, Mr Severe. Is it meant to be "severe" as in "gravely lacking in humour", "severe" as in "sharp" or "acute", "severe" as in "serious"?

While you're working it out, get the beers in.

Yer all right, you have to be drunk to appreciate the Order live, to appreciate the event and the full picutre. Standing sober at the back doesn't allow you to get into it at all, all you will take away is the mistakes and the shoddy sound. Get pissed and enjoy it - we all speak from many years of experience. 8 out of 10 dog owners can't be wrong.

I'm 17. I can spell. Then again I probably have more responsibilities in life than Spike...

I've posted a few messages when I was drunk but nobody have noticed about that, I guess. For instance, I was drunk when I found out the link between New Order and Star Wars. It was 3 AM and I just had arrived from the bar.

I'm sober now, by the way.

Thank you. I don't dislike Spike at all, but his butchering of the English language is horrible! I don't allow my students to spell incorrectly, and at least 30% of them are not native speakers (my classes are around 60% Hispanic). Of course, I guess if they wish to spell the Unyted Stats, I should probably just be more understanding!

I appreciate the fact that we are all New order fans, but dang, I had an easier time reading wee Shuglet's drunken posts back in the day!

Well it's quite interesting to see your honest answers. Looks like a great deal of the NOOLers brought pub ethics in.:smoking:

I also see drinking a social thing to do. When I'm shitfaced, I prefer not to act in public. But when one drinks alone, that's sad.:( As for New Order being drunk, I think that helped them create amazing melodies right on the stage. OR: it helped them communicate with the aloof audience.

I'm not against drinking. I've just noticed something on here and that's why I brought up the issue. Sometimes it is so loudly obvious.:uhoh:

For those who'd rather abuse me... I am as severe as Jeff might be, I assume, in school terms. Jeff, are you a severe teacher in your school? Obviously you're vigorous.

This is getting more surreal by the day. Alta Vista always was a bit hit and miss!

Dont know what I've stumbled upon here , has Jeff just been outed ? Is someone being groomed ? Is monkey spanking legal or rhyming patois ?

last time I take the piss out of a severe fella , all manner of dark and shady deals seem to ensue . Still whatever floats your boat , live and let live .

I think it's time we all had a stiff drink...unfortunately, all I got is Coke :(

I would go to the boozefest that is our town's Octoberfest if not for the fact that (with an injured toe) I'm more sensitive to random strangers staggering around possibly stomping on my foot. Plus, I haven't heard from any of my buds about wanting to go, and I don't want to endure the parking hassle. Besides, it's just a glorified standing-around-in-a-field-for-hours. So fuck it
