I have a cheesy side that I assume completely, hence the reason why I'm going public to say that yesterday I have just rediscovered the song Steppin Out by Joe Jackson.

I don't know why, there's something in the melody of that song that makes you want to listen to it over and over again. Probably has something to do with that famous analog synth bassline à la Blue Monday, and that piano too...

In any case, that would certainly make a good cover song, eh?

I know what you mean, you go quite a while without hearing a certain song and then you rediscover it and appreciate it so much more than you did before....

But this have never happened to me :evil4:

At the risk of sounding like IanMadManc...

Joe Jackson lives about five miles away from me in Old Portsmouth, and he still looks the same as he did 20 years ago.

On the song rediscovery front, "Head Over Heels" by Tears For Fears.

I really wonder where Sophie B. Hawkins is today. Her hit single "Damn I Wish I Was Your Lover" left its mark on one of my summers when I was young and in the women discovery process. I clearly remember when she did a show in Montreal (I was there).

Incidentally, I downloaded a video of their "2004" version of that song yesterday. Actually, it's an outtake of their live performance. I understand they did a tour earlier this year in Europe.

A bit cheesy, to be honest. But still a good song.
