this is a good site, if you haven't been there already. it takes into account both social and economic beliefs. it's a UK site and has info. on both US and european politics.

i'm a leftist liberal, chillin' in the bottom left corner of the bottom left quadrant. surprise, surprise! (my parents were both in the middle of said quadrant.)

Seen this one before Christy. But it's an interesting one to bring up for NOOL review/entertainment.self-assessment mere days before major elections here Estados Unitos!

Fun though...it says I'm an Leftist/Authoritarian (barely).

Whatever, I usually try not to label anything or anyone much...it's too trendy to label things anymore. The way I see it, you're an asshole, or you're not. Now, I can say with conviction that I try NOT to be an asshole, though I never claim to be completly successful...

I've taken this test for my Gov class in 12th grade and in poli sci in college. Good test IMO.

I'm near Friedman every time!

Interesting how that works out huh? I dn't hink it really matters where one falls on this graph in relation to who one votes for. The ability to make up one's mind based on facts and evidence is separate and more important than political leaning. Yeah Bush is a goofy bastard...but Kerry is just plain full of shit!

I am a lefty liberalist - somewhere in between Nelson Mandela and The Dalai Lama (Waiting for Hibster to insert his usual double entendre here)

Anyone who veers to the right should be shot.

Can't get it to work cos the net connection is screwed up here. But I wonder about these sorts of things, I mean something like

"Military action that defies international law is sometimes justified."

Could be agreed with by both a neo-con and a Bolshevik. So I wonder if its interpreted as left or as right?

that's the point. 'left' and 'right' isn't so clear cut, is it?

for the record, i interpreted it to mean action by states. the FAQ section states that they purposely make some of the questions vague, though, to encourage self-interpretation.

Economic Left/Right: -7.12 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -5.33

I.e., Left libertarian, more libertarian than Gandhi & Mandela, and left of the Dalaia Lama. Everytime I take this, it always comes out a little different, but always in the same neighborhood.

What I find particularly amusing is that George Bush is to the right of Adolf Hitler, although admittedly not as authoritarian. Even Kerry is to the right of Hitler, although he is less so than Bush, and less authoritarian than Bush as well. Finally, between Kerry and Bush, Kerry is the closest to the political center.

Distressed to find I'm in the centre of the lower left. I thought I was more left than that. I'm suffering from creeping conservativism.
