Christ, I MADE those damn things all summer. Stupid lack of money....

OH fuck i just spilled corn flakes on the floor. At least the vodka didn't go with it.

So anyway...they cook those little guys for 5:45 min/sec. and then let them drain for 30 sec. and then let them cool for 10 minutes so the boiling filling won't burn the poor little customers. If we served them before the 10 minute mark, we'd get fired on the spot. So if you don't like someone working the frier at Taco Hell, tell them you burnt yourself on your fried apple fritter that no one can pronounce. The best part of working that job was sitting in the back laughing at the orders that came in over the loudspeaker since no one could pronounce anything properly. The hicks who came down from the hills and couldn't pronounce 'burrito' were the best. I'd always announce, "There's a white person!" Good times.....

No wait...not good times. I hated that job.

Thinly sliced Jennie-O precooked Cajun style chicken breast (damn good juicy chicken!), pepper jack cheese, Dijon mustard, all on two pieces of toasted whole wheat bread. I've also had a golden delicious apple and some baby carrots. For dessert I had a small slice of an Oreo ice cream pie.

Yes please!!! Fired chicken with vegetables and bitterweet sauce

Ingredients sesame oil 10 ml
frying oil 500 ml garlic 2
onion 1
red hot chili pepper (at your own taste, but try not to put more than 1 little one) ginger 10 gr
cornflour/flour 200 gr yellow sweet pepper 1/2
red sweet pepper 1/2
green sweet pepper 1/2
chicken 1
soy sauce 20 ml
Shiitake mushrooms 50 gr rice wine (or white wine) 20 ml

Sauce sugar 10 gr
soy sauce 20 ml
rice/white wine 10 ml rice (or white) vinegar 20ml

for 4 people

  1. Fried chicken
  • Take out the bones of the chicken and cut it in pieces that could fit in the mouth
  • In a bowl put the pieces of chicken and add soy sauce, ginger and rice wine
  • Let the chicken there for about 10 minutes.
  • Take the chicken and roll into cornflour/flour
  • In a wok/pan with at least a couple of fingers of oil fry the chicken in high fire until it gets slightly gold
  • Dry it and let it waiting
  1. Sauce
  • In a cacerole/pan put the sugar, soy sauce, the vinegar and rice wine and mix well
  • Cook in low fire until the sugar starts caramelizing it
  • Turn off the fire and let it waiting
  1. Vegetables
  • Cut the sweet peppers, the onion and the mushrooms in squares of 2x2 cm.
  • Cut the garlic and the red hot chili pepper in small pieces.
  • Put sesame oil in a wok/pan and cook in high fire the the sweet peppers, the onion and the mushrooms for about 1 or 2 minutes. then add the garlic and the chili (if not they´ll get burned) and cook another minute
  1. last steps
  • Add the fried chicken.
  • Add the sauce.
  • Let it cook another minute or until everything´s hot.
  • Serve with fresh parsley on top

Advices: don´t put any salt until you taste it because the soy sauce is salty and you might not need to add. the same with the pepper, especially if you used the chili pepper. don´t over cook the chicken when you fry it, do this: see that the oil still has foam with the pieces of chicken in it, that means the chicken still has liquid inside = is not dry.

And bon apetit!

That's a weird mix. It's like some people in Turkmenistan put butter in a cup of tea, some people put salt in watermelons... Wrong, but interesting!!

nah...salt on watermelon is actually quite tasty!!!

of course, I know someone that puts mayonaisse with peanut butter on a sandwich...that just sounds plain NASTY...to me!!
