Does anyone knows a software where you place notes on a music sheet and can play them in midi...
There is something similar to this in Adobe Audition, I quite find it easy to work with (would be better to have a midi keyboard, I know!)
I'm curious if there is something free able to do this... 
A friend of mine uses a program called Anvil Studios or something like that. He may just have the free demo, though. I can't recall.
I know there's a program called Finale, but you have to have a fair amount of knowledge about how music is composed to know how to use it.
Finale is indeed a great notation program, but I can't think of anything free that might suit you. You might look through download.com and see what turns up.
I found one, and I found a crack as well, it's called NoteWorthy.
I had another one, called Mozart, but it behaved weirdly sometimes, and crashed when I maximized it.
So now I can compose music.. cool ;)
(BTW, I have 6 years of music behind me, so I know how it works)
