Another bs RollingStone list, top 500 songs of all time

Well JD hits the list at 179 w/ Love Will Tear Us Apart, and BLT is at 201. The good thing is that the Cure is well below both JD/NO songs (the Cure are at 278 and somewhere else lower on the list). The Beatles, the Stones, Dylan and U2 are littered all over the list.

RS has been doing "500 greatest" lists probably since they started in '67...it's all just the same old crap (excluding the Fab Four, of course :D ) reshuffled every so often to show a nod, however token, to the "younger folks" who wouldn't know Simon and Garfunkel from "Simon and Simon"...and wouldn't know either anyways.

I'd have a lot more faith in these lists if, say, rock music was no more; that is, you can't concievably come up with "rock's greatest songs" until the art form itself is dead and replaced with jazz (slight nod to KITH skit about Death of Rock...not that anyone got that).

When the final nail in the coffin of rock and roll is hammered in (my guess is it already was with "Christian Rock", a bastardization which completely missed the point of what rock was about to begin with), THEN I'll buy any list of greatest rock tunes. Until then, it's all a bunch of horseshit...to sell more magazines

I've found Nirvana's tune always overrated. Their singles weren't bad, but Nevermind always put me to sleep. I remember in 1998, I was reading in Guitar magazine a list of the top 100 guitar solos and the "solo" in Teen Spirit was higher than one in Smashing Pumpkins' "Geek USA." True, that's not the best solo Corgan's ever done - "I am one" might be - but there isn't much of a solo in any Nirvana song. Talk about hype.

Mmmmmmm.. nice memories... Well even my high school was renamed to Nirvana in 1992 (as a big plate on the wall stated). But hell, not me!

And when people say about the grunge craze of 1991-1992, it looks like most of them did not care a damn about the dance scene, which, as amatter of fact, was booming as well and was developing rapidly as well. So I was into DJ culture back then

P.S. Of course it doeasn't mean that I stand up for NKOTB. It was an absolute crap.
