My 500 Top Album List

Here I composed my own list of 500 all-time albums. Well I know you would be way too tired to read all the 500, so I reduced them to 40 (so the ones you wouldn’t find here are not included). :)

Here only LPs matter, while a great deal of splendid artists are better with their just hit singles (the Beach Boys, the Hollies, the Rolling Stones, Creedence, ABBA, Run DMC, most new-wave and dance artists whose best LPs are hit-collections). And I did not include ultra-rare acts that only a few would know. :D

And I picked up the ones that I like entirely, not just a few songs from them.

Another subjective list

Hrrrrm. I thought Behaviour was among the worse of the PSB albums. I'd put Introspective a few hundred places above it in my own Top 500 listing...

The Pet Shop Boys PAH !

Trans europe express ahead of man machine, interesting opinion, but good call for including both of them.

Interesting list, to be sure ( never seen Mr. Humperdinck on many top album lists to be sure, but hey, who am I to complain?). Nice to see The Fall there, my personal preference would have Infotainment Scam somewhere near the middle of their catalog, haven't really listened to that one in a couple of years, though I love the version of Why Are People Grudgeful?

They're not everyone's cuppa tea, that's for sure. Saw a live Happy Mondays video for Kinky Afro this morning and thought of ya Shug, ever get your parcel from BLT?

Well Imagine, for sure. But there is a bunch of songs in the middle that I can't stand recently. So I thought Mind Games would be more smooth - since it's really an excellent LP. But the better one would be Double Fantasy had it not been ruined by Yoko Ono, because all the Lennon songs there are top-notch.

As for Englebert Humperdinck's Release Me, I think that LP was the créme de la créme of the 60s orchestration and vocal techniques.

Yeah me too.Always AMAZED how HIGH this one is rated.Own all PET SHOP albums and several limited editions including ALL the 2 cd ones apart from BEHAVIOUR!Introspective is a CLASSIC album.Good call..

At least four of your top twenty would probably appear in my top twenty as well, so can't grumble too much. Good shout with Honky Chateau as well...probably not in my top forty, but nice to see it get the recognition!
