Green, have you heard of a Eugene band called Toad in the Hole? I'd like to find their CD, but it's not easy, to say the least... Any leads you can throw my way?

Mr. Blue Order...........heard of them, didn't make it down to the Eugene Celebration this year, so I didn't get a chance to see them, and since I get up at 3 am on Wednesdays, couldn't make it down to John Henry's last Tuesday for the show listed on their website, linked below, though I would imagine you've already come across it.
It would be no problem for me to find the CD at any of the stores listed below, I'll be heading down there this weekend, and to mail it to you at absolutely no addtional cost, other than the disc and p&h, as I probably won't be heading north any time soon.
I listened to the title track mp3 they had, very fine stuff, and I'll bet they're much better live.
As a bonus, since I need to hit the campus anyway, I'm sure I'll cross paths with these lovely ladies at some point, it's a good thing they do most of their cheers at the other end of the field..........![]()

All this Oregonian talk reminds me... FUCK YOU CORVALLIS for your abominable fog during the USC game. Now I can't stand OSU, almost ruining my poor Trojans :(.
Thansk, Mr. Green. Actually, I missed their link... well, actually both links. ;)
I'll email you re: the CD. And yes, they're great live-- saw 'em at a bonfire party, of all places. Tore it up, kilts and all.

That's the spirit Tristan..........
I live about 15 miles away, looked out my window that night, shook my head in disbelief, and rooted like hell for the Trojans. Yer lucky you don't have to come close to that dive town.
Surely you heard the reports about the underage black OSU players who harrassed a white Nat'l Guardsman, who went back to Iraq, and who happened to have a black wife at a local bar a couple of weeks ago, and of 'em sucker punched the guy outside? Niiiiiiiiiiice.

Sounds great then, shouldn't be that expensive, I'd imagine, I'll try to mail it early next week then.
Tristan, if the Trojans hold court for the next two games, I'll be rooting for them against Oklahoma, and give them a decent chance to win, providing of course they hold Adrian Peterson to a reasonable number of yards.

I'm not too worried about Auburn because USC dominated them the past two years (no wonder they are off their out of conference schedule), and a game with Oklahoma would lead to an awesome offensive exhibition. SC's D is improving weekly and I don't think Peterson will be a problem at all. Usually it's the passing attack that hurts SC, and maybe that geezer White could hurt SC.

Score! Looks like I'll be buying a new CD from an Irish rock band!
Mr. Blue Order, you will be pleased to note that I did purchase said CD by the band in question this weekend. Only found one copy between the two stores that I was gonna hit, which might mean that they've shifted a few copies in the area. You say that you saw them at a bonfire, eh? Wasn't with any Reed students after the election, by chance? ![]()
On a personal note, damn glad I went down there, also bought The Fall's Wonderful And Frightening World on US vinyl, near mint, for 10 dollars, and a solo CD by Penelope Houston, mega babe from the Avengers.

Thanks so much, Mr. Green!!! I almost forgot, what with graduation approaching. The bonfire? No, it wasn't anything as innocent as a post-election Reedie gig.

Penelope...
The Avengers were from my "hometown." ![]()
Again, it was no problem getting the disc for ya. Won't have a chance to even get to the post office tomorrow, so it looks like Tuesday or, more likely, Wednesday for that. Send me an e-mail about the particulars for your delivery, shouldn't take that long to get to you, would it? There are no Brazilian postmen here in the Northwest, it's much too cold for them..:D
Penelope's indeed a babe, and I love her acoustic based solo stuff better than her rock albums she put out on Reprise.
Received indeed Blue, and I was gonna mail the package today, but I've just spent the last 3 and a half hours waiting in lines at both the DMV and a bank, cause my dad sold my old pickup today, on very short notice, and I've been scrambling around getting the paperwork straight.
Seriously, the people at the DMV told me I was gonna need a note from Wells Fargo stating that there former name was First Interstate Bank, because people would be confused about that. Oooooooohhhkay.
Look for an e-mail between 11 and 12 with the final cost. actually, I will be in Portland tomorrow...................at 4 am.............working...........don't think you wanna meet up that early on a weekday.
Cheers anyway ![]()
Got it last night, Green! ![]()
Stayed up all night listening to Irish drinking songs and such... :D If you like that sort of thing, give 'em a listen sometime. ![]()
I'll send you a check this weekend, hopefully not by way of Brazil. ;)
Good ta hear, I checked out the mp3s on their site, and quite liked them, I'll look for a copy next time I'm in Eugene.
