Me and True Blue are off to see The Weddoes at Portsmouth Wedgewood Rooms in Feb. Saw them do new single "Interstate 5" as Cinerama at the same venue last year. Really great track.
I don't 'get' BSP, sorry! ![]()
I'm doing the Weddoes at Concorde 2, Brighton as well (had also contemplated the Dublin date!).
Interstate 5 is awesome - 6 minutes of pure brilliance.
Follow up single out the end of January with an album to be released on Valentine's Day - as Old Blue mentioned, several of the new songs were debuted earlier this year as Cinerama tracks.
Can't wait...!!!
Chris :)
Saw British Sea Power in April this year - you really should catch them live. Kinda remind me of early Order somehow, but can't pin down exactly why?
Maybe it's their artwork, their sullen persona or ceremonyish style on Carrion? I don't know, but they,re damn good anyhow.
Can't remember NO having excessive amounts of foliage on stage with them so it can't be that either...!!!
Chris
I feel I should make an effort to like BSP as they're a Brighton band but... ![]()

Maybe, then, BSP should do a cover of "Everythings Gone Green";)
BSP and their plants were great on Jools Later' last year. I've never seen em live but I have been to their club night where they do in fact play NO regularly.

They're from the Lake District, surely? Kendall or somewhere?
they have a spin off band with electric soft parade (i think) that is based in brighton so can back this up
It does have to be said thought that british sea power are absolutely fantastic. Carrion and Fear of drowning are storming live sings. Saw them at glasto, 3rd best gig of the weekend behind macca and oasis, and saw them in academy 3 last month. storming. Its great that a band so good are still small enough to play the sweatboxes. Well, great for me, probably not great for their bank balances. oh well.
