Hey all,

I have been in the mood for listening to The Sundays on my ipod for the past few days and have been thinking about the fate of the band. I know they have decided to go on a "hiatus" and Harriet Wheeler is quoted as saying she will start writing music again when her kid(s) has gone to college....I also know that she is married to the guitarist as well...

Being out in the states, I don't hear much info...is there anything that you guys have heard in the UK or England about this great band??? Is that true that they will not make music until their kids are raised? Was it some kind of front to their record company because they were dissatisified with their record company? Who knows, but I would love to know more about this band!

Yeah, I was a huge fan as well, saw 'em a bunch of times. I think they basically made their money and knocked it on the head when they began procreating. Don't think we'll see them again somehow....

very good band :) i didn't know thats why they stopped recording (having kids and even worse, having to raise them). I always assumed they just got dropped by a major label when their sound wasnot in fashion anymore with corporate radio. I'm glad that was'nt the case.

Nail. On. The. Head.

That and "My finest hour" are my favorites. Never heard their last album, but I assume it sounds pretty much exactly like the other two, right?

I can't image them being dropped, because their song, "Summertime" was a HUGE HIT in the United States...I believe it made it in the top 5 or perhaps even number 1 or 2...it was played constantly for a while, so I am sure it made their record compnay a lot of money.

The only frustration is that they quit when they were at their apex...I did a little research...from what I see...give them a couple years and they will be making music again...
