Listening to the Clash like crazy!

I got eventually a copy of a Clash double CD collection (namely, The Story Of..). Last time I heard it was 11 years ago and it was a tape. Now I've got such a fresh feeling listening to it. I can't get enough of "The Magnificent Seven" (now I know they ripped off the likes of SugarHill Gang and others), "Clash City Rockers", "White Man in Hammersmithpalais" and other stuff.

By the way, London Calling is my fave Clash album. :)

Rudie Can't Fail

Complete Control, Safe European Home, Gates Of The West, Bankrobber, and One More Time are my fave tracks. I was damn glad CBS was able to put out a lyric sleeve for their first album when they eventually decided to release it here.

Story of the Clash is a very good collection. I recommend it to newbies quite often.

I sorta like the tribute album for The Clash. I rather liked the Mighty Mighty Bosstones' version of "Rudie Can't Fail."

Whenever I hear "Radio Clash" in my car, I turn the s**t up mega loud and all the other drivers are, like, staring a hole in me. I really don't care, because that song FREEKIN' RAWKS!

I remember Sting criticizing The Clash for being socialists. Never heard The Clash criticize Sting for being a twat.

Saw them 13 times. Their live shows are still the the finest I ever saw.

Armagideon Time, Complete Control, Safe European Home and Police & Thieves are the peak of this enormously high mountain.

Don't stop with "The Story of...", get the CD's, the remastering is well worth it.

PS - "I believe in this and it's been tested by research..." - what a line!

I did.

I only saw them twice, once in a stadium at their commercial peak, and once in The San Francisco Civic auditorium when Strummer had hired those two new guitarists. Hardest rocking band ever, that show. I still remember Strummer ripping into Sting at that show. :D

The only band that mattered.
