When it was sold in America, I used to drink a lot of Caffrey's when I went out. Evidently, they lost their import license...The Irish pubs in Chicago all used to sell it...

The head on that bear was the best!

Some blackcurrant lager you can get in the Belgian Beer bar in Altrincham. Also, theres a lovely Belgian Beer they sell in Dry bar. Cant think for the life of me what it is called though.

As for the regulars. Well, you cant beat Fosters.

Any strong lager will do. Don't like the weak stuff. Just been to Sainsbury's - going to post my list now.

Whoa whoa whoa...not ALL American beer tastes like piss ...now I'll give you that the mass produced swills are pretty bad...but the finest brew I've ever had isn't Stella...it's an American brew...Old Rasputin Imperial Stout ,from North Coast Brewing in Califronia, is better than ANYTHNING else I've ever had...and it's strong, it will knock you on your arse fairly quickly...it's twice as strong as your average American brew...

I've long held the belief that good lager is in the presentation, rather than the preparation. A long walk on a hot day, cold straight glass with condensation on the side, nice foamy head, drink it straight down. Ahh. That's my favourite lager.

Although I have just remembered that Red Stripe is, in fact, my favourite.

Change the wording, Rian, that MOST American beer tastes like piss and you'll always be spot on. :spit: :D

If that Old Rasputin is available in TX, it should be readily found at the more discerning grocery stores round here, I should imagine Jeff.

Still love Stella here, if I'm out on the town and it's not available, then I'll go with my usual, Black Butte Porter. It's not a lager, but what the hey.....

Mmmmmmmm...........................beer!

Gotta love the translation - if you mean Norrlands Guld :)

Anyway, the American beer you can buy in Sweden taste like piss. Or the "watered down taste". But there are some good US beer such as Yuengling and K-9 Cruiser from the Flying Dog Brewery. Michelob's dark lager and Killian's Red are also worth mentioning.

If I have to pick one strong beer, I'll pick Dynamit.

The other brands are not as good though.
