British or American music?

Of course it's British music. England gave NO to the world and if it wasn't for them, I wouldn't have an idea which band would be my favourite. Seriously.

British for me. No contest.

all my favorite bands are british or at least european. it goes in circles though. all these newer american bands seem better than current day british bands cause they borrowed or were influenced by british bands of the 80's and 90's who were influenced by so and so who may have been american.

We British may, to some degree, be the best in the world at writing and recording music. But does this mean we are the best at buying and listening to it?

More to the point, although you'd be forgiven for thinking that all US music for the past 15 years or so has been pure commercial on-demand output, you can't be forgiven for not investigating the work of Domino Effect (or specifically, his songwriting name Intervox.) He, in my opinion, is the world's best songwriter-producer of his generation. And that eclipses Keane and Air. (He's probably getting a little worried that I've said this so many times these past few months!)

Such a biased question to post in a forum devoted to a British band...

I can say that British-inspired American music (The Killers) is FAR BETTER than American-inspired British music (The Streets, Eamon).

I admit its a dry period for american music right now, and i apologize for the killers and the bravery

Checked my CD and vinyl collection and the results are like that more or less: 65% Brit (nearly half of that comes from manchester), 20% American, 15% european (counting Irish in that category, i think they d prefer that, if not, i d like them to tell me to do the correction ;) ).

Its clearly the Brits who win, but either way im not gonna vote in this poll, since nationality is one thing that certainly means nothing when im deciding if i like something or not.
