A report on the BBC News Website claims that UK's No 1 Single on Sunday is likely to be The Crazy Frog's Axel F.

So why did it all go so wrong for Jetstream and why did it go so right for Lyla?
This is pretty sick you know. These guys at Jamster have found the ultimate money making scheme. When you text them for one of their ringtones they infact sign you to a £3 a week monthly fee where you get ringtones each week that you never asked for (my young sister was a victim). Now they've decided to ask the composer of that "Beverly Hills" tune (Axel F) if they can incorporate their crazy frog sound (not even created by them in the first place, it was a general wav file floating around the net) to make a single, and then release it. Now their gonna get a lot of money from the so called single their putting out, probably 50/50 with Axel F, really dodgey.
Wankers the lot of em.

The "crazy frog" sample first came to my attention 4 or 5 years ago as "the formula one insanity test", where you had to look at a picture of Rubens Barrichello in his Fiat F1 car, while listening to that sample and not laugh in order to prove you were sane. I failed miserably. It was funny then, now it has become loathesome.
Isn't there something really scarey about the whole thing though? I mean, setting aside the "demolition man" undercurrents of something like this attaining the same status as real music, there is something horrible about the idea of everyone wanting the same ringtone in the first place, I mean how totally conformist....I fear that although we lack nobbly bits and suckers, the human race ( or vast elements of it) are little better than Daleks......"you are different, your communication device does not emit the standard hail signalllLLLL, you are an alien I must EXTERMINATE!!!!!!!!!". In work I am (well was) repeatedly asked "WTF IS that horrible noise" when my phone rings. I dunno about you, but a DMX and a Voyetra8 beating out the intro to TPK sounds great to me......but because it wasn't 50cent or that fookin ememememeeinininememenema geezer, it was "horrible". Glad I'm off sick, cos I'd be surrounded by that fucking frog ( which oddly enough has just popped up on my, mercifully muted, television).....and I still can't find a version of AoC that sits well on the phone to use as a defense.

And this is an infinitly better future IMO,along with the Order bursting back things are sweeter than they have been musically, for some time

In this case, a first ring-tone to be interpreted into a 'single'.
But it would have helped if New Order - like Duran Duran and Simple Minds to mention just two others - had released their best single FIRST.
If they were having trouble getting hold of the quality remixes that any artist worth their salt would crave for, they could have bought some time by doing another 1, 2, 3 extra versions of some songs and release them as free downloads.
Is the song actually played on British radio? Yeow.
I actually just heard it for the first time on the radio, while people were commenting on how whacked out it is. Sad to say, most younger people don't even remember it from Beverly Hills Cop.
Didn't the ring tone recently beat out Coldplay's new "comeback" single?
