err wait, nevermind... i didn't realize there were a slew of other world cup songs each year after WIM. goes to show you how little i know about football.

On the subject of World Cup has anyone got any idea what happened to the backing music that Norder wrote for the BBC's coverage of the 2002 world cup finals? Does anyone have a copy? Did it end up evolving into something else?
True, Kasabian are cack - they're a poor man's Flowered Up - and even THEY werent exactly the most original band in the world either.....
At least Kasabian might be able to give a football song some balls compared to the shite turned out recently (" Hey DJ, I wanna kno-o-o-w..." fuck off)
The backing track is "such a good thing". It's on Retro bonus CD and World in motion '02 release.
I interviewed Ian McCulloch once and he said in this interview that he never wrote a bad song. My reply was "Not even that football song?" (a reference to "(How Does It Feel To Be) On Top Of The World?", the 1998 England World Cup theme). Ian felt embarassed, but he agreed that the song was pants. 
i don't know much about Kasabian, but a lot of people here in the States seem to be hyping them up as the successor to the sound established by Stone Roses and Ride.

Kasabian are top, at least their first album, and frankly i dont care if they remind me of anyone else (like there are too many bands today with an original sound) - if u like that kind of sound u described, go buy it immediately.
I think they're top! Apparently this rumour's true, too. It'll be interesting to see what they can come up with.
