any fans around these parts?
i forgot, it has been so long since i have been around.
i enjoyed the show they put on, even though my date didn't that's alright. it was the first "date" i had been on in a while since i was with my last lady-friend for 9 years. didn't realize that girls these days like to pump thier dudes full of beer, or did i just get luckier than "getting lucky"?
it was fantactic. free beer, all night.
My girlfriend of two months wanted to see their Seattle show this week but she works that night. Oh, and she loves pumping alcohol into me at times as well. Never been much for VNV Music Factory myself, but I'm open to new things, even when they involve cheesy goth-industrial music.
I think they are great, I have been a fan of them for years. I saw them on New Years Eve and they put on a great show, even though they played about 2 hours and started after midnight (I am an early sleeper.)
My boyfriend got the show on audio if anyone is interested.

I'm doing a VNV featured artist night on Monday May 30th. 10pm-12am CST on www.wluw.org and giving tickets away to the Chicago show as well :)
I get to interview them before their set at HOB. I wanna ask him why he talks so damn much during their sets. 2 hr shows, but nearly 30 minutes was him talking about random crap.

since empires, they've sounded pretty "synthpop" to me... i like 'em, but then again i like the pet shop boys, so go figure.

I like the PSB's too, but VNV always bores me. I don't undrerstand why they're played in at goth nights so often.
because goth clubs don't play goth music anymore ;) it's all synth-pop, electro, dark wave, whatever the fuck you wanna call it. and there's nothing wrong with that cause most of all goth bands suck anyways.
if you go to a "goth" club expect to hear: covenant apoptygma berzerk vnv nation wumpscut wolfsheim
none of those bands are even industrial.
and they are not elevator music. i can go on trashing Pet Shop Boys and/or some depeche mode jesse but i wont cause i do love those bands, but honestly, everything VNV has done in the past 10 years has been far superior to anything Depeche Mode or Pet Shop Boys has done.
I am not a big fan of industrial, I like synthpop-futurepop... whatever they are calling it these days. There are a lot of new bands that are playing that now...

Haven't heard too much of VNV just the song "Standing Still" which is very cool; it reminds me of the days of Clan of Xymox and Sisters of Mercy.

i should clarify, everything VNV has done since 1995 has been better than anything Mode or PSB has done since 95 with the exception of Ultra. And VNV released like 4 or 5 albums in that period whereas Mode released 2 and PSB like 2 or 3, so my argument isn't that great and I don't wanna die.

You seem to be forgetting PSB's "Nightlife" and some of their songs on Bilingual, like "Red letter day" and "Saturday night forever."
i'm not forgetting nightlife. I actually grew to dislike that album very much. The best song on there was called "vampires" and "for your own good". This was released right around the same time VNV released "Empires" and I have to go with VNV on this one.

Yes you are forgetting Nightlife. Really, the only bad track on there is that duet with Kylie. And PSB's last two singles, "Flamboyant" and "Miracles" are better than anything VNV's done.
