I never really lost my interest in them. I extremely love their period from "Sons and Fascination" up to "Real Life". The latest album "Cry" was OK again.

There were some brilliant guitarists coming out of San Francisco in the 60's-- John Cipollina and Jorma Kaukonen, for example-- but Jerry Garcia wasn't one of them. An utter mystery why this over-rated band ever achieved the cult status it did.

Have to agree U2 is incredibly overrated, their olders songs were brilliant- Pride, Sunday Bloody Sunday etc...but after that it was all shiit with Bono gallivanting around like some kind of a messiah. True sellouts once, twice over. Savvy PR, I'll give them that.

Coldplay, Interpol (to me, they're a bunch of second-rate JD wannabe's), Razorlight and the bloody Strokes.
Interpol, I've got their first album, heard the second, still baffled by their appeal.
How or why the Manic Street Preachers are even popular is a good guess, I was given a copy of Generation Terrorist, which was good for a laugh (and made a nice base to burn a candle on) , I thanked whatever deity's responsible for us being here that I didn't waste my own money. Only heard a couple of things since then, nothing's changed my mind, and their song on the Chemical Brother's DJ mix album was the low spot indeed.

I would venture to say Aerosmith are over-rated (everyone says they're second-rate Rolling Stones, but I'd say they're not good enough for that. More like second-rate Led Zeppelin)

I agree with every word.To be fair to oasis,they made 2 great albums,and became rich, and poor musically(Like the talent dried up).Fast strangely.No signs of a recovery with their latest album

There is nothing positive in Queen (well in LSkynird also but they are a basically a US over-rated Band not worldwide as Queen)

How can one call UB40 'overrated' when they've never been regarded as anything other than a somewhat plodding cover versions-based job creation scheme in the first place? Actually I don't dislike them, would even listen to them on occasion. Yes they're nothing special but have never been claimed to be by anyone anyway so 'overated' seems unfair.
The Human League pre-split were genuinely original I think. Even if those first lps sound rather dull now.

Oasis I actually like just enough to have listened to and be aware there's nothing remotely exciting or original or innovative there, just 'inoffensively listenable' at best.
Somone in the NME once desribed them as 'the white transit van blocking the highway of rock'.
(And I'm referring to their supposedly 'great' and monsterously overrated first two lps, after that I wouldn't even call them 'listenable').
Rolling Stones. Saw them live at the globe in Stockholm a couple of years ago. Ok some songs are great, but have they done anything good after 1980?

Can someone please explain Radiohead to me?
I bought OK Computer and Amnesiac and tried listening to them with an open mind but was dumbfounded. This was at the height of the music press having their tongue up their ass and the masses seemed to be duped into thinking OK Computer was one of the top 3 albums ever made.
Does anyone even still listen to that album? Was it all just some kind of mass delusion?

I never understood the Radioheas hype, either. Whenever I've had to listen to them, I always think of a guy standing behind a synth, just holding his hands there, and mumbling something.
