But doesn't it say that the draft picks automatically if you're not around? (very sorry for driving you mad :( )

If your not there, the system picks for you. It will pick the best available player.
You can rank your players before the draft if you want. When you do this it will pick whoever is on top of your list if he is still available.

Good news(?)... I'm at home at the draft pick...
My god, it will be at 3 a.m. h.t. (h.t. = here time )...
But if I can stay awake for the OSCAR-Ceremony every year I will stand that, too... 
I wont be home, i will be in Montreal, but i ranked my players and hopefully i will get a decent squad.
