Funny, that's not what I read today in the paper, where he said the only way he would reform the band would be for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame !
His solo album is now available, and I have read probably too fast, but it talked also about Robert Smith and a cover of "To Love Somebody" from the Bee Gees ?!?! ![]()
Now the question is.. reform with D'arcy or Melissa? :D
Melissa is from Montréal btw ;)
Ok, this news is now on Reuters... Pumpkins back? if they go to the Mellon Colie level.. anytime!
There is no way that D'Arcy will be back in the band - as far as I know Billy was still on good terms with James and Jimmy, but has slagged D'Arcy off on many occasions re her drug use and mood swings. Siamese Dream will always be in my top 5 albums of all time. Mellon Collie could've matched that if cut down to one awesome album.
This is awesome. They're my favorite band of all time. Gish and Siamese Dream are their best albums, in my opinion, and, quite frankly, without Jimmy Chamberlin behind him, Corgan seems lost. The parts of his new album I've heard are alright, but he needs to start bring out the guitar solos and writing edgier lyrics. Zwan had the guitars, but the lyrics are really forgettable.

Didn't jimmy chamberlian get chucked out of the band for his drug use? but they let him back in so maybe she'll be back,
looks like Billys finally realised he is n othing on his own without the pumpkins
corgan took out a full page ad in a chicago newspaper when his solo album came out saying he wanted his band back. it was all over the news and shit too. chicago tonight on PBS had a full half hr. on the ad alone.
my friend victor used to see them play live at metro when they were still doing gish and he had long hair and signed his shirt, never been worn or washed since :)
i met james iha while working at blockbuster when i was in high school.
great band & great ppl too :)

i liked james iha's solo stuff it was fairly good, is he still in a perfect circle?
Well, that happened sooner than I imagined. Where's the Soundgarden reunion when you need it?

Iha is still in APC, although I thought his solo album was really dull. When he was in SP, only two of the songs he wrote, "Blew Away" from Pisces Iscariot and "The Boy" off Aeroplane flies high, were any good in my opinion. Although when he and Corgan collaborated, they produced "I am One," "Mayonaise," and "Soma." Go figure. In the Pumpkins, he really didn't do too much and his only memorable solo is the one in "Disarm." If Corgan didn't start getting all religious during Machina, Zwan's album would've been another SP album.

boring rock ballards....Black Hole sun springs to mind, oh that'll be Soundgarden then
by the way i hope you all realize that A Perfect Circle is still just a side project of TOOL serriously if they wanted to propel apc the would never released and all cover album, thats something that high school kids do. plus james iha is a fucking god! corgan is jesus but iha is god and kenan is satan howerdell is the devils advocate and the rest are followers
I bought the ZWAN album, its just a SP album with a different name. The only difference is probably sales figures. 'Reforming' Smashing Pumpkins is a money maker, nothing more. Shame cos Mellon Collie is one of my fav albums.

I agree. All the songs sound the same. He said that he was inspired by touring with New Order, but all the synth and drum machine parts sound the same for all songs. "Mina Loy (MOH)" and "Walking Shade" are the only two stand-out tracks.

when i picked up the future embrace, it sounded like something i'd expect from cdbaby.com!!! not that it's bad and all...i just expected better.
Last time I heard Billy on the radio, he said he was splitting the band up because rock n' roll is dead. Then he turns around and does a song with NO. What an ass! Stop your whinning and be the arrogant talentless idiot you are so the millions of sheep can flock to your frigin horrible concerts where you voice sounds like you've been singing with an exaust pipe in yer mouth. grow a mohawk while you're at it freak!
