Your formerly pending move to Kauai has actually got bLuE oRdEr thinking about Hawaii. Gotta find someplace to go after school, and there aren't any jobs here in Portland that make staying seem sensible. I've thought about California (too crowded/expensive), Alaska (too cold), Seattle (too many law grads looking for a job), New York (air's too soupy in the summer). Maybe the Hawaiian Islands? ![]()

Right! Portland is affordable, at least as far as rent goes, but it made the number three spot in Forbes' "Most Overpriced Places" list this year, because the economy here just sucks too much. It's been nearly impossible to find a job the entire time I've been here, so I'm outta here once i graduate.

austin, too.
The area of law I'm most interested in is endangered species protection-- another strike against moving to NYC, although I'd like to live there for a year or two-- which sort of dictates where I'll end up, as well. Trying to balance out doing some good with making some money, all while not living in some crappy little culturally dead shitehole. Or crappy big shitehole, like *ahem* Vegas.
Hey, I know-- bicycle law! :D

bLuE oRdEr prefers biodiesel law.
It's a good thing this fell through, actually. To think that you would have to spend all your days on an island paradise full of exotic locales and inspiring beauty. Yep, that's all that you're missing...you should consider yourself...lucky, lucky............yeah, nothing wrong with staying in Florida............damn ![]()

Too bad, I was going to say to visit while in LA! :D
and i may have taken you up on it on my drive out to put my car on the boat! :D
oh, well. i'll get out there sometime in the near future. i have a number of friends in the area to visit and the only place i've ever been in the LA area is...carson. :dead: not the best impression, mind you!
Yeah, Carson is not the nicest place to live. I live in Burbank, which is nice, but HOT right now!

That's why my brother moved down there, he didn't really care for the colder weather up here all that much; hope he's happy now..
Heard that the temperature out in Death Valley got to 129 degrees the other day......ouch!!!!
