"House music all night long, where did it all go wrong" says Barney on the intro to Temptation on the cd in my car.

Well, did it all go wrong? And, if so, where?

I'm not sure that all-night house music actually went wrong for me, but it certianly happens less now. Other things to take my time and energy, I suppose.

Wonder where Barney thinks it all went wrong.

Most of it was wrong to begin with. There are some absolute gems though.

How can people go to clubs and dance to Alt rock? Beats me. Thats Wrong. All Wrong.

I remember a night in a club in Manchester where a baleric DJ who we all knew came on and started playing. Just as he started a bloke selling roses came in.

Quick negotiation with the guy, who was only to happy to take a price for his whole supply of wilted stems, and suddenly the whole place was full of people holding red roses. Of course everyone pretty soon got hold of the idea of jamming them into their teeth for some proper spanish-style dancing, clicking their fingers in the air and spinning the ladies around like Hi-De-Hi talent show rejects.

Magic! We made the papers that night!

Sounds quite the night. Beats a load of codgers stomping about with pints singing along to the killers.

Things that killed it off:

  1. The switch from e to coke and other shit substances
  2. The Superstar cunts

erm, I dont know a lot else. Have you read Hilligonda Ritefields book on the subject? It should be a good read. Cant wait to get my hands on it.

Yowza.
