I agree that the point for a loss in overtime is not a good idea.. at first I thought it would be one, but rather than forcing the team to play offensively to get the extra point (as they should have done), it made the team play defensively to preserve the tie in the 3rd period to at least get one point....

So it should be abolished... and lose the point system and go to a W/L only standing...

What does everyone think of the idea of Coach Gretzky?

You probably have the rookie of the year in Washington in Ovechkin... so I'd watch them closely if I were you!

Crosby might be good, but Ovechkin is one year older and not that far behind.

True but remeber that the caps played The Pens something like 7 or 8 times in the playoffs lost 7 times including blowing 3-1 leads twice.....so mario is a personal bad guy and responsible for a lot of bad karma.....oh how I hate Mario! Spotnick-you grew up happy as a Habs fan

Don't give FOX any new ideas dude...PLEASE NO!

Nice to see some hockey fans here!

If they serious about respecting the rules (obstruction), we can expect to have a pretty exciting season.

A lot of rookies should be hot this year, Corsby is tha main event but I think the rookie of the year will be Thomas Vanek from Buffalo (42 goals last here in is rookie AHL season).

I'm a ex-Quebec Nordiques fan so is tough for me to love the Habs but Gainey seems to wants real changes. Brisebois is out and maybe Koivu will be buy.

Any Minnesota Wild fans here? That's my team. Thanks to NHL Center Ice to help me see their games.

If you get TV by a satellite dish, just call your provider and ask for it. It cost me 250 or 300$ in canadian funds for a year.

Every night you can watch every game on different channels. Two year ago I had even acces to Maple Leafs pre-season games.

Of course, I came to realize that I'm more of a Habs fan than a hockey fan, because I only watch Habs games and can't enjoy a game without a team to root for...

So for me, I only need the basic cable package to get RDS where the 82 games are televised...

Center Ice is so worth it. Especially if you don't live near your team and you'd otherwise be stuck with the local bunch of scrubs (Panthers).

I'm a french canadian and I'm not 100% billingual (as you can read my mistake in my posts), but I just can stand the way Pierre Houde describe a game. He seems lost so often and he even sends greetings to friends in hospital during the gameplay!!!!! A real shame!!!

I think the Panthers are on the way to the top. With prospects like Horton, Bouwmeester, Wiess, Stewart, Olesz, Roussin.... Jokinen and Huselius, two talented forward and the best young goaltender in the game; Roberto Luongo, they can't go wrong.

Oh, and Jacques Martin is one of the best coach to develop young players.

Disons que ça ne me dérange pas.. ce qui aide.

Encore heureux que c'était pas à RDS de 1995 à 1999 lorsque j'ai fait mon bac à l'UQAC... !! je n'avais pas le câble à ce moment!

Just remembered today that my vacation will start on October 2, this means I might actually miss the first game

Since I'm doing a cruise, and should be between Quebec and Chicoutimi, I hope they can catch local TV on those... :skeptic:

I have a feeling I'll miss Depeche Mode, but THIS TOO? ah crap... !! ;)

What a crazy week!

I was happy to see the Habs sign unconsistancy itself Mr Kovalev back... too bad they can't do better, but they have a projected payroll of 35M$, so it would be hard to add anything.

Only logical addition at this point would be Teamu Selanne to play with Saku Koivu...

How do you feel about the Wings bringing Osgood back? I'm not sure if I trust him to take them to the Cup...But perhaps he was the best they could do, given Khabibulin's contract with the Hawks. I am very curious to see how it pans out.

Peter Forsberg have finally signed for a NFL club. Dunno wich one it was though.

Buffalo?

Forseberg signed with the Flyers.of the N.H.L.:thumb: bobby clarke went over the cap and had to trade Roenick to L.A. Supposedly lindros is almost signed to the Leafs, 1 year at 1.6 million, they are negotiating over bonuses, they are going to be total crap this season.

i like Osgood, he was great for the islanders and i think he will be solid in Detroit. i also like what the islanders have done Satan & Zhitnik were good signings, and the peca trade was great, york is on the way up as where peca was dOne after tucker took his knees out. i wish they would have gotten Aucoin back though, we have holes in the Defense with aucoin, jonsson and Hamrlik gone. janne niinimma is probaby the worst d -man they have, they guy gives up the puck in front of his own net at least 3 times a game, yet they sign him for 3 years? oh well thats mike milbury.

I forgot to tell you i will be in montreal from September 3rd to the 6th, so i wont get to see the habs while im there.:(

im staying downtown at Novotel Montreal Centre 1180 Rue De La Montagne

do you know where it is? are you close to it? we are taking your advice and spending a day in Quebec City, probably the 5th. so we have to meet up for a drink if you have time, maybe dinner?

i already have a few requests for Rimouski/Crosby Jerseys. so how are les canadiens fans reacting to the small moves the habs have made? i know that the leafs fans were livid but they seem happy enough with having tie Domi back and the prospect of Signing Lindros:dead:, maybe they will pressure Ferguson to bring back GILMOUR!
