favourite south park episode

since we had a 'favourite simpsons episode' thread, this seems to be the natural successor.

like the simpsons there are so many to choose from, but these are probably my top three:

1. mecha-streisand--robert smith and sidney poitier saving the planet from the giant streisand. (whenever i would tell one of my cure-loving students how NO are better the cure, his reply was always, 'perhaps, but robert smith did save the world from barbra streisand, you know.)

2. cartman wants to meet more 'mature' friends and sends out an IM saying that a young boy seeks friendship with older men. he gets message after message and thinks there are a lot of men who are keen on becoming 'friends' with a pre-pubescent boy. he eventully joins NAMBLA at the suggestion of the professor, where he's told he'll meet some friendly older men. it turns out the professor was referring to the north american marlo brando look-alikes.

3. currently my favourite: kenny gets to level 50 (?) playing the game 'heaven vs. hell' on his new PSP and god arranges for kenny to die because he has defeated all possibile scenarios in the upcoming war between the real heaven and hell. he is heaven's 'keanu reeves.' just as he is about to control the legions of god's army, he's brought back to life by the doctors, but in a persistent vegtative state. god's angels wonder what is wrong with these people who want to play god by keeping kenny alive, thereby putting the kingdom of heaven at great risk. brilliant!

Chef's parents are hilarious.

the first season was so great, how the show matured and developed so quickly until the cliffhanger, while still being so fresh, hard to compare to anything else... it's hard to decide

of the later episodes i must admit i love Butters (not in the NAMBLA way!) ... in some ways I've never seen a character I've related more to... when Butters followed his Dad to the bathhouse and his mother tried to kill him is great, thou i bet many people hate that one

I have only seen it once, and it was funny. I only realy watch the simpsons,rock star:INxs(guilty pleasure)and late nite telly. I watch late nite a lot because i get bouts of imsomnia.

The 1 episode i saw had the characters go to china for a dodge ball game. One of the chinese kids mocks the american by saying 'look at their big eyes'

i have a number of episodes downloaded on my computer--but no DVD-burner. :( otherwise i'd make you a DVD.

so i suggest you get down to your local video store and rent a season or two. i think you'll love SP.

My top two are probably when Jennifer Aniston leads the kids on a tour of the Costa Rican rainforest, that one always has me near tears.

Trying to teach the kids sex education in Proper Condom Use is the second is a very close second, the absurdity of that situation was a good episode plot.

Others that stick out: Cartman joining NAMBLA, the Chicken Lover, and the one about returning the Lord Of The Rings video tape.

Special mention, for rudest episode ever, for the Radiohead/Scott Tenorman Must Die episode, at the end of that one, my reaction was just like Stan or Kyle's.

The Butters episode All the elements are there. Humorist scene that pushes the limits of tv decency and obscenity (Butters' father at the gay bathhouse)and social commentary that calls the guilty out (Rames and OJ and Conduit).

Lord of the Rings ( Harry Potter is gsy )

i love the one where they buy Ninja Weapons and Kenny Knocks out Butters Eye, and they dress him like a dog to take him to the Vet.

also love "the passion of the Jew" Episode where kyle goes to see the Passion of the crist, and stan and kenny go see mel gibson to get the money they spent to see the film back because it sucked.

Forgot about that one, very true assessment, but still a very very funny episode.
