And it wasnt always about Lizs vocals.Rob Guthrie`s guitar was unique. The original sonic cathredal of sound. They inspired so many bands. And still do.Anyone heard Delays?.The singer sounds so like Liz at times.

at times incredible.couldnt tell what she was singing most of time but the dream like music helped make your own story up.i saw them as running parallel with new order and cure in deep bass music with atmosphere. what a voice!! her tones on song to siren can move me to tears.wow

only ever saw them once.they were on at hacienda around 1984 but their gear kept breaking down so it didnt go well. but ive got footage of them on whilstle test that great.

Sheer genius. Lorelei is one of me favourite records of all time.

She was a complete arse about Coachella though.

Yeah why did she pull out exactly?.What reasons did she give if any?.The others did want to do it?.

Not sure. A severe case of stage-fright me thinks. Don't think she liked performing as a rule. I was looking at Cocteaus forums at the time and there was people flying over from the UK with hotels, tickets, etc booked. Out of order really. They were blaming Massive Attack because she'd gone on stage with them earlier last year, and then decided she didn't want to appear live again. The attitude seemed to be: she could've done one Cocteaus gig first and THEN decided she didn't like appearing live, instead of doing one gig with someone else, and then pulling the Coachella show as a result. Robin Guthrie posts on one Cocteaus forum and reading his words you could tell he was equably gutted/disgusted.

Funny thing is, we saw people in Cocteaus t-shirts at Coachella with a sign over the top saying, "Yes, we know!"
