Dr. Strangelove. Dark comedy, excellent cast and imortal lines.
"Mandrake, you ever see a commie drink a glass of water?"
I hate the man.
I wanted to say Dr Strangelove only due to the title character but then I saw Wide Eyes Shut on the list and chose that one. ![]()
i've just watched the killers kiss.
in a word ,boring. i only like two films the guys ever done, Full Metal Jacket and Dr strangelove the rest are a little slow and boring IMO
for me, it has to be dr strangelove(timeless) and full metal jacket(just too damn funny!)![]()
'What is your major malfunction, numbnuts? Didn't Mommy and Daddy show you enough attention when you were a child?'

Lemme guess why, sinner! :p
A clockwork orange.
Followed by Full metal jacket.
Well, I'm a simple man, with simple needs.
2001, Murder just wouldn't be the same without the HAL sample, then FMJ then Stangelove.
Cheers Stanley for some of the greatest films of all time
R.I.P fella
clockwork, followed by strangelove and barry lyndon.
2001 could've used some trimming.
Am i the only one here who's seen a scratchy bootleg copy of Fear and Desire?
Ah Stanley.
Love him. Hate him.
Cannot stand anything he did from 2001 on.
Love everything prior.
Voted for Strangelove. One the best ever.

Indulge me ![]()
I've tried watching Clockwork Orange a half-dozen times, but I just can't. The blatant violence in this film just disgusts me. (Which is odd for me 'cuz I tend to be pretty open-minded when it comes to films.) But everytime I get to the point where they terrorize the couple in their home, I have to shut it off.
ya kubrick rocks. and i love 2001, so good that new order did a song about them didnt they, shouldnt that tell yall who to vote for? come on. never heard murder did yall? :) and for all of you who didnt understand 2001 u really have to read the book to understand it, thats y there wasnt much talking in the movie, cuz half the book is explaining stuff about whats happening. what losers. i like strangelove the one time i saw it. i never did see eyes wide shut. and i only saw the very beginning of clockwork orange, and hell full metal jacket, thats where i started my name off. i was raptor man for the longest time, just look at my email
I actually found the Clockwork Orange pretty boring... but I was a teenager, so maybe I should give it another try.
As weird as it might seem, I have never seen 2001 ! neither Dr Strangelove.
So my vote went to The Shinning... he managed to have Jack Nicholson do, IMHO, the performance of his career...
Redrum!
And I'm one of the few that enjoyed Eyes Wide Shut...
A Clockwork Orange, 2001, Dr. Strangelove... 3 movies made in row, completely groundbreaking, going to be classics for hundreds of years, nothing much else to be said...
all his movies after he was in full control are interesting, maybe after A Clockwork Orange the movies are pretty flawed at times but still always the ideas and images and sounds of the director are always intriging, and always trying to make a completely different movie from his previous films. Barry Lyndon takes alot of patience to watch (Ryan O'Neal? WTF? or maybe thats just what Kubrick wanted?) but it mostly works and the ending duel is so cool. The Shining, flawed also... the King book source is actually kinda stupid... Full Metal Jacket, the second half seems so anti-climatic at first... Eyes Wide Awake, the real life couple are not really very convincing, at least tom cruise is less annoying than usual
