Last I saw it, it was parked out by the Subway store on Washington Street...why, is it not there anymore?
[trying to hide the fact that I sold it for scrap metal] 
there's a movie called "dude, wheres the pary?" starring kal penn (harold & kumar). horrible title, good movie about 1st generation indians in america, how their parents deal with it, and how they have internal racism against indians who are fob (fresh off boat).

It'll probably work better as a metal coffee table in the lounge of a Jiffy Lube anyway. It'll probably get less coffee spilled on it, too.

i need to tell my friend nilam about this one. she's from gujarat originally--moved here when she was 4. her parents are pretty traditional and while she's a devout hindu, quite traditional and keeps a lot of ties to the indian community, she's realizing that she's less 'indian' than she thought she was since she married a man from ahmedabad in december. and i mean from ahmedabad. they married in india and he came over soon after the wedding. unfortunately, his brother was killed in a car accident in australia (where he lived) 10 days before her husband was to get his residency, so nilam and bimal had to return to india for the funeral. now they're in limbo. they're hoping bimal can come back in march but because of the stricter immigration rules they're not sure. because of the circumstances they may have a chance and they've been working with a lawyer. the problem is, now bimal wants to stay in india as his brother is gone and he is the only son, meaning he is responsible for the family and the family business. without vishal, the family feels incomplete as they were all going to come over in five years. bimal's parents are driving nilam crazy (especially his mother) as she's used to being independent. now she's a patel she is under the thumb of the patels. i don't think she realized quite what it would be like marrying into a family in india and she doesn't want to live there now. before the wedding she had romantic ideas about living in india, but after living in her in-laws house all summer, she realizes that she's much more different from them than she thought she was. maybe she could use a good laugh (if kal penn is as funny in this as he was in harold and kumar).
sorry about your friends situation :( that really sucks.
i've been getting into these indian/pakistani movies lately. i relate to them i guess which is why i really liked dude where's the party? some other really good ones were:
east is east (i think that was the title)
touch of pink (a GAY pakistani!!! the horror, the shock!)
bride and prejiduce (the lady who directed bend it like bekham. your friend might not like this one cause they made it bollywood like an it has all the cheesy romantic songs, and a love story that mostly takes place in india and considering her situation.... :/)
oh and most of the girls in these movies are sooooo damn pretty. especially the lead actress in bride and prejiduce.
Thought it was a class movie, not Citizen Kane obviously, but good for more than a few giggles. Sad they scrapped "Seriously Dude, Where's My Car?" a couple of years back

my favourite bollywood movie: lagaan. aamir khan is a babe. 
oh yea Lagaan is a great film. i need to get more into bollywood all my indian friends make fun of me for not getting into it as much. it pisses me off i used to get singled out for being indian when i was little, then i get singled out for not being indian enough when im older.

no offense, but i laugh whenever it's a really heavy and dramatic part of the movie, then they all bust into song and dance! 
my friends bring movies for me all the time! it's a break from the norm!

yea depends on the situation. but that reminds me of The Guru where they pretty much make fun of that. i laughed

Actually you can have one of them if you want. One 1984 Nissan Bluebird of Australian manufacture with 300 000km on the clock. Body straight no rust, sports suspension. I still drive once a week to the shops. Still runs, uses no oil. However, its woth nothing. No dealer would take it as a trade-in. It als requires a bit of major work, ie new hoses, head gasket, and airconditioning belt. No I don't deliver.
