For example - among some of fun/stupid things I can remember -, a friend of mine told that a relative of him, once, was going back to a supermarket parking, picked his car key, opened the door, sit down and put the key in the ignition. Drove around, did what he had to do, came back home. His wife looked at the car and realized that, ehr, it wasn't their car :p. The same car, the same color, the same key. He hurried back to the parking and the owner was mad, with policemen around him ![]()

I just noticed, that I've had my driving license for 20 years. Took it September 19th 1985.
I'm old :(
Only had one car crash, and it was 3 days after I got my license ![]()
Now I drive more secure, so to speak.
I used to have a Triumph GT6.

Somebody had taken the twin Stromberg carburettors off and replaced them with triple Webers. Very trick set-up. But to fit the triples, they had to cut a hole in the hood (bonnet). So there was this hole in the hood, up through which the carburettors sat.
One day, while driving with a mate, I felt something snap, and the accelerator pressed straight to the floor, dead. No gas getting to the carbs. Turned out the accelerator cable had snapped. We were close to my mate's house, so he went home to get his tool box. We rigged a piece of wire to the carburettor, up through the hole in the hood, through the passenger window, to where my mate was sitting. I drove home by having him pull the wire to apply gas to the carburettor, with me steering, shifting, and braking. Took a few moments to get used to, but we actually got pretty well coordinated by the time I got the car home.
Another time, same car, I was driving when suddenly steam started coming from under the hood, water spraying up through the hole in the hood onto the windshield, temperature gauge rising. I pulled into a grocery store parking lot, opened the hood, and there was the problem-- a split radiator hose spraying coolant all over the place. I thought about it for a moment, went into the grocery, bought a roll of Saran Wrap, and used the entire roll to wrap the radiator hose tightly. Drove home that way, with no more problems along the way.
First time we went out in my mate's Mini, it was pissing down. We had to negotiate a stretch of road with a long incline down followed by an even steeper climb. As it was so wet, a large puddle had gathered at the bottom which was hidden in the darkness. As we went over it, a FOUNTAIN of water came up through the rusty floor around the gear stick and drenched us. Water also got into the engine, and it started chugging half way up the climb. The final insult was when we tried to pull over, couldn't see through the misted up windows and punctured the front tyre on the kerb...
I did an oil change once. Drained the sump, changed the filter, poured 5 litres of oil into the engine.... and straight out onto the parents driveway.
Forgot to put the sump plug back in.
Any idea how long it takes to mop up 5 litres of oil?![]()
I get a man to do it now.
i was driving my honda prelude home from work one night, and the hood wasn't latched tight, and it flew open, completely blinding me. it was bent in half, so i threw it on the road, jumped on it till it was flat again, wired it down with coat hangers, and drove home.
There was the time me and a friend did a U-turn on the Sydney Harbour bridge as we decided we didn't really want to go to north Sydney. Not much to tell but its almost impossible to do and get away with. We did get away with it.
