What's your beef with Oliver, tho mate?
I don't like Jamie Oliver for a few reasons,
A: I think he makes a Mockery of the chef industry doing stunts like this No.15 restaurant which he is now turning into a chain. All well and good doing your bit getting deprived children off the streets and into work Etc, BUT when they're on training allowances of about £65 a week, hes pulling in the big bucks by charging £7.50 for Heinz beans on toast. £7.50 for beans on toast as a starter? plus he will have been payed a nice tidy sum by channel 4 and sainsburys no doubt to sponsor the project.
Some company, i think it was the Haydens Restaurant guide did a survey of the most expensive places to eat in London, behind Le Gavroche guess who was 2nd at an average cost of £85 per person per meal not including wine....yep you guessed it our man Jamie, thats more expensive than the real big boys like gordon ramsay, marcus wearing. it think hes. got some bloody nerve.
B: when he started out he was just an middle of the range Chef in the River Cafe in london where some tv company were filming a show at the restaurant and they liked his 'cheeky chappyness' so offered him a role, so because hes had limited experience in the work enviroment when he now is on tv doing his 'reality tv program bit' hes f'ing and blinding really hammering people down probably because hes watched it on Hells Kitchen and thought 'yeah pukka, that show i should be, pukka, pukka'. but thats not the way you can be if your trying to nurture people into the job.
I don't like hells kitchen as a show because the hotel and catering industry gets a bad rap as it is for long hours, unsociable working hours, a lot of aggresivness from chefs etc, hells kitchen just adds fuel to the fire how many young people will watch that show and think fuck that i ain't going into that industry its gonna be murder.
so thats a just a few reasons i don't like jamie oliver and the overall main one is i just think the Vespa riding mockney is a general Twat who is just after praise and attention, not the whole i'm doing it for the love of the job.
but at the end of the day money talks
