any roky erickson (13th floor elevators) fans?

i recently started listening to the 13th floor elevators although i've been familiar with others' covers of their songs for years, for example:

primal scream's cover of slip inside this house jesus and mary chain's cover of reverberation (doubt) john wesley's cover of if you have ghosts julian cope's cover of i have always been here before

and on and on.

i recently decided to listen to the originals by erikson. good tunes.

I like what little I've heard, but their stuff is hard to come by at least in these parts

i downloaded it off of shareware.

in high school i got the 'where the pyramid meets the eye' tribute to roky erikson CD. it has primal scream, the judybats, julian cope, jesus and mary chain, zz top (yes), john wesley harding, REM, butthole surfers and others covering roky erickson songs.

Yeah, Roky Erickson is seriously disurbed, but brilliant. I've got You're Gonna Miss Me: The Best of Roky Erickson. Great, great songs, as long as you don't mind singing along to "praise the devil" lyrics from somebody who really means it.
