Hell yeah, they're class, up north they're not that advanced yet, but when i go home to my parents its class 24hrs and self service.
A new complete FIRST FLOOR has been added to my local TESCO with a rather nice RAMP.I was STOPPED from venturing up this with an ILLEGAL type trolley due to HEALTH and SAFETY measures when we went to purchase a new MICROWAVE.Eventually security let me up there with a TROLLEY that was LEGAL(can you believe this?),i thought they just had a grudge against good SHOPLIFTERS.
May i just say how thrilled i am to see a PROPER subject on NOOL again.Glad winter is approaching. Can't wait for DIGGY MIKE's 10 GIFTS to buy people you HATE for XMAS thread.LAsty year he sent out 12 BLUE MONDAYS,11 CURE lipsticks,10 SHUGZV videos.......... ![]()
I've started getting my shopping from tesco online. A man called brian delivers it. Lovely chap.
But do they remember the yoghurt?.Sounds like you want some of Brian`s own special brand actually![]()
No Tesco's here in the US, so we'll take this opportunity to talk about the crazy man, whose name rhymes with the store, and whose ads on how to get free money from the government for seemingly every purpose under the sun are all over the place. The man himself, Matthew Lesko!!!

Did you buy that at Tesco?

They're in the bargain bin at most reputable outlets. Not their CDs, but the band themselves ![]()

AgentWood wrote: tesco's the best. somerfield can kiss my ass--the worst supermarket in britain.
I used to agree with that, back when I lived in a town where Somerfield was the only supermarket (and it was _rubbish_).
But my local Morrisons/Safeways seems to be even worse. Went there last week with a list of items and not one of them was in stock. No tinned green beans, no beef other than mince, no cox's apples, no pitta bread, no budget range soup, no own brand tinned tomatoes etc.. just yards of empty shelves - curious to see a capitalist corporation doing a good impersonation of communist Poland. Though they had no shortage of crappy microwavable ready-meals.
Had to walk 3 miles to another supermarket to get my shopping. I reckon any supermarket with no nearby competitor simply stops trying. And only the wealthier areas seem to be able to support more than one supermarket.
We have two somerfields in our town. only been in one mind. The one i go in is a bit shitty. Ugly staff. very ugly.
you can actually be a mystery shopper.
the company send you an assignment.you have to ask advise from staff, check toilets.etc
they give you ten pound towards your shopping.fantastic ![]()
the e-mail to register is mysteryshopping@grg.com
OOOO IVE NEVER DONE IT MYSELF,HONESTLY !!!!

I go to Cookstown a lot & they have a good Morrisons/Safeways there - I always get the shopping in for the week while i'm up there - except for the last time i was up there a couple of weeks ago, when the bloody place was closed
for a month for renovations. So, I went to the nearest TESCOS instead:D
Microwaves for only £24 !!! thats like €36 - nothing! Cant go wrong![]()
Uncle Liam wrote: Yes but cookstown is quite possibly the WORST place on earth!
So, what you're saying is - next time use the Tescos in Dungannon ![]()
I wouldnt recommend it. In fact, I would stay out of all the tesco's in county tyrone. No, just stay out of tyrone in general, especially cookstown ![]()

I find the women at Tesco are fitter in general than other Supermarkets, have any other NOOlers made the same observation?
The bird who does the lottery sales at Tesco in Ilkeston is Top Quality - worth a visit if you are ever in the area!

Same over here. The poorer downtown areas in whatever city always seem to have one REALLY shite grocery store, and nothing else. Higher prices, shite produce, no service, and filthy conditions. Cunts.
Over the last 3 or so years Aldi has begaun to invade Australia. BTW top quality at great prices. Surprise, surprise, our big duopply supermakets can suddenly lower their prices, especially when they have an Aldi in near vicinity. So here's 3 cheers for competition.

There aren't any Tesco's in my area. In Boston, there's Shaw's and in Philly there's Acme. Neither sell Depeche Mode posters, although the Acme in my neighborhood has Hawaiian shirts during the summer and t-shirts with the neighborhood's name on them, which is kind of odd, since most people outside of the Philly area don't know what Roxborough is - not that you should know, anyway.

Yep!
Just pointing out the traditional Manc-land / NW Ingerland superstores; living in Londoninium means Tesco +++

mmmmmmm---has ilkeston got a train station and is the tesco open 24 hours??? ![]()
I tend to shop at Sainsbury's on the virtue of it being the nearest. There's also a Tesco further down the road but I need to time my visits carefully, unless I want to share the bus with a thousand screaming teenagers from a nearby school.
I'd rather shop Tesco's, maybe if I switch all my shopping to there I can save enough for a car!
Bansheeman, nearest train station Ilkeston is langley Mill, about 5 miles away. Tesco is 24 hours except for Sunday's when it closes at 4pm.

Yes your are right on that one..
Uncle Liam wrote: You've been, so surely the reasons must be obvious?
Fair enough:D
Took your advice today - went to the Sainsburys in The Quays in Newry instead (hope thats ok with you
)
Got Singles there for £9.79 - which felt even better after seeing it in the HMV (also) in the Quays, for £13.99!!!
As far as the fit girls goes . . . they all seem to be decent in the supermarkets 'up north' - better than my local tescos anyway ![]()

Actually do you have any good record shops in Philly, as I have to go there next year some time for family reasons.

Sorry, I like 69 so much, I never get to 70. :D
As the cheeky bingo caller where me mam worked, delighted in saying,"TWO FOR LUNCH..six and nine..ssssixty nine"
I had dinner at a mate's house years ago-- me, my mate Jon, and his mom and dad. We sat down to eat, and Jon decided to tell his dad a joke:
JON: "Hey dad, do you know what the speed of sex is"
DAD: "No, what?"
JON: "68, because when you hit 69, you eat it."
THE 3 GUYS: ![]()
MOM: "I don't get it."
