0bscure gigs you've seen in this genre?

The one I never saw was Sigue Sigue Sputnik,never played Miami.Depeche Mode will be in the Miami area soon,since they are one of the few I haven't seen I'll try to be there.OK for me 1]Severed Heads 2) Book of Love.Both at club NU Miami Beach very late '80's,Another gig I missed was Sept. 1988 The Church at Deco's MiaBch. I still kick myself over that,they played w/ Peter Murphy,seen him several times also seen Love&Rockets so I've kind of seen Bauhaus after they split.I also notice Bauhaus music brings top money on ebay.I guess I couuld add 900' Jesus same venue NU,and that Book of Love got ragged on for allegedly copying a No riff.

I saw Big Audio Dynamite at a tiny, tiny venue.Leeds social club.Very intimate.Everyone shook Mick Jones's hand,he was as pleased to see us, as we were him,sound as a pound he was.Can't of been more than 150 people there..One of the best nights of my life

i saw dinosaur, jr. at the gothic theatre in denver back in the summer of 1991; there were maybe 200 people there. the opening act were an upcoming band named nirvana.

Interesting re the top two posts - I saw both B.A.D and The Church on numerous occasions in the 80s/90s and am not afraid to admit it.

Well Dinosaur jr. is obscure,I've never heard of them,maybe too obscure huh? Either that or I'm not worldly.I missed BAD/PIL tour early '90's they played the Cameo,now I think known as Rebar MiaBch..Did see PIL twice.Also pisses me off missed, They might be giants at the Kitchen club MB..

Beat This: fooking T'pau @ Newcastle City Hall late 80's (twice!!). Worth it tho cos the bird i was seeing at the time was a top shag.

Seen The Church several times, never disappointed me yet.

Still pissed cause I had to leave San Francisco back in 84 two days before Cabaret Voltaire were due to play with the brand new local band Faith No More as openers; I did manage a gig poster from then that is still on the wall of my home office.

Saw Sonic Youth drummer Steve Shelley when he was in The Crucifucks, well before the SY gig, opening for the Dead Kennedys.

Watched amazed as David Yow of Scratch Acid (later of Jesus Lizard) threw himself around the stage, thought he was gonna hurt himself.

Black Flag at the University Of Oregon fraternity where they filmed some of the interior scenes, shortly before it was torn down. Moved there cause the fcukin' cops cancelled a free concert on the EMU lawn, after Painted Willie had already played.

Love Tractor, pals of R.E.M., played a lovely set of engaging originals and choice covers, including Kraftwerk's Neon Lights.

That Petrol Emotion and Voice Of The Beehive, on one show, and Hunters And Collectors on another; both drew about 100 people on a weeknight...

The Sugar Cubes in 1988. Less than 150 people. As I am very tall for a Frenchman, Björk did look at me most of the time...

Free entrance concerts of unknown bands with less than 200 people : Ride, Radiohead... at their début, others surely...
