Really?
Same here, in a way. I love her too, as a person, not just a bedmate.

Yeah, but have you and your GF tried a 3-way? :D
A very dull Simple Minds show (sorry Bere!) and a foot of snow on the freeways set the stage for a great end to the day. Had to stay in Portland somewhere (thank you, Michelle) , and as B. Ferry sang, "You can guess the rest".

Even though you tend to misunderstand my posts, 9 times out of 10, no, I don't slam you. But this post is one of the most asinine things I've ever read on here. Rian says he loves his wife, not only as a bedmate, but as a person, and you say "Really? Why?" Maybe I'm wrong, maybe it's just your English and yoiu meant to say something else, but you're insulting Rian's wife by saying that, and it's really an insensitive thing to say.

Oooo... c'mon... let's stay cold and don't allegate. I asked Rian a question, not undermining his wife's dignity, but challenging him to tell why he loves her as a person... just a question, a plain question. You may ask me, why I love this or that person and I may answer... Now you're offending me personally trying to undermine my knowledge of English. ![]()

OK, I'll try to explain this. Rian says "I love my wife as a person, too, not just as a bedmate."
Possible response #1: "Really? Why?"
This response (A) expresses surprise that Rian loves his wife, and (B) implies that the questioner can see no reason why Rian would love her. It's a very insulting thing to say to somebody.
Possible response #2: "She sounds very special, Rian. What was it about her that captured your heart?"
This response avoids the above two problems.
Mr. Barcode, I recognize that English isn't your first language. It's evident, for example, in your response to me above. And I recognize that a number of people on here don't use English as a first language, including certain **ahem** Canadians. ;) And a lot of times, the non-native English speakers make minor mistakes in English, but it doesn't really matter that they make mistakes, because I understand what they're saying. And in re-reading your response, I see that it's possible that you were trying to say something other than an insensitive remark. But it still came across as insensitive.
So my apologies to you for misunderstanding you. Fair enough?
one time with an Asian prostitute i was able to perform sexually and didn't even cry afterwards, and she wasn't even too freaked out that she didn't push me out the door hurriedly... wait... that is really pathetic if that is the best sex that i will ever have... now i'm really depressed...
