How crap is rounders?

Got up with the lads this morning at 7 am, switched on the telly and the World Series rounders was still on. Milkshake was postponed much to my disgust. Next time don't criticise cricket for being too long.

and it's only slightly less boring than cricket. only slightly. and the players spit more and pat each other on the bums.

Yes!!! I couldn't believe how much spitting was taking place, it's not as though they were running round or doing anything energetic to justify any need to, just gobfuls of the stuff.

And chewing (gum).

Hey, at least you got to see the end of it,;) it ended well into the new morning on the US east coast, and a lot of people went to bed before it was over.

Seeing as how cricket matches aren't televised widely here, if at all, how long do they generally last?

that depends which form of the game you are talking about. one day cricket goes for about 6 hours, tests for 5 days, and 20/20 for like 3 hours. just rough estimates.

Didn't they try it over here back in the 40's/50's but it never really took off.

When we are beating Australia, usually about 3 days, which constitutes 9 x 2 hour sessions in which time they have been bowled out twice and we have got a lot more runs.

Yeh, and in Venezuela it is fashionable to wear cricket 'boxes' although they dont play the sport. And the ones who wear it back to front look just as stupid as baseball cap wearers who wear it back to front.

I went to see the cricket once with my ex, he tried to explain it to me but no avail. No problem though, I just sat and watched the nice men running about.

Never could get into baseball. It used to annoy the hell out of me when it took over the tv.

Rounders is by far my favorite sport. I never heard it call this before, and the name makes senses.Never understood why american football is called what it is.

baseball is based on the british game of rounders. it's basically the same game i think, only i believe rounders is mostly a girls' game, isn't it?

basicly it is a unique north american game, quite differnt to rugby, ie they wear padding and throw the ball forwards.
