Paul Gascoigne has joined our near neighbours and long time enemies Kettering Town as manager. He will have ex Arsenal midfielder Paul Davis as his assistant. Gascoigne is part of a consortium who have bought the Nationwide Conference North League club which is two divisions below the Football League.

Fooking hell Steve, don't hold back. :D
We'll have to go over to Sheep City for one of their next home games, stand in the visitors end and give fat boy slim an ahem friendly welcome from the Corby Celtic Supporters. ![]()

i wonder what songs will be made up about this one with him.. i allways liked the one that went, you know he's fat and way's a ton but i never thought he'd become a hun..
You all said it wouldn't last, it would end in tears, or in a boozer.
Well Gazza's short reign is over after 39 days.
Maybe Rangers have tapped him up. :D
Kettering Town sacked him on Monday citing him as being under the influence of alcohol before matches and during training.
During an interview on Sky Sports this evening (which was embarrassingly cringeworthy) Gazza refuted the allegations and claimed he was sacked because he wouldn't let the chairman pick the team.
Clearly the worse for wear he pledged to buy the club himself and said he would be behind the dug out tomorrow shouting instructions to the players when Kettering play away at Alfreton tomorrow, even though Kevin Wilson has been re-installed as boss.
All joking aside this guy has pressed the self destruct button more than once and is in real danger imo of following George Best to the grave sooner rather than later.

wasn't far off with my prediction.
he looked a bit sad and bevvied on Sky Sports News last night. delusional!! and he was banged up last night in a police station in Liverpool for allegedly hiiting a photographer. if i was religious, i'd pray for Gazza. but i'm not, so...
In fairness, the bloke who sacked Gazza sounds like a complete cnut. The sort of scum who infest football these days. He "wouldn't sell Kettering for 100m of Abramovich's money"?! Er, hello?! Prick.
Everyone knows how fragile Gazza is. Sounds like his name was used to help this lad get a consortium together, then he's just discarded him, in the hope of getting even more publicity.
Whoever is close to Gazza should tell him to stay away from these stressful ventures... Maybe he should apply for a job at Beckham's coaching school or something... if he keeps doing stressful management stuff he'll be on the bottle and, as we all know, sooner or later in an early grave.
the main problem is: he still thinks he's a top player.
its over paul. finished!! get a job with a club on the coachin staff. that's your lot. managing footy clubs, I don't think so, with all the day-to-day hassles, his brain just can't cope. poor rich sod.![]()

spot on
But, without a focus not much else to do other than relax in a bar !
I always say that if I won the lottery I'd be dead in 10 years.
I spent a load of money on studio stuff to start a hobby. But only ever mess about with it when I'm leathered.
Hmmm, I need to sort my life out.
Good luck Gazza..Top Player,top charachter
I just wish he was'nt so fragile, because the game is richer for a charachter like him...I genuinely hope he can beat his addiction and demons..Its hard for someone like him to find the love he needs. He knows the score, and has been burned badly with women, who used him because he is Gazza.Though he has no defence for hitting his ex-wife,no matter how cruel she was..I hope he gets himself right soon.

Couldn't have put it better wee Cuz! I fookin hate them sheepshagging bastards even more than "Gazza the loveable rogue" ![]()
Dunno how I missed this thread the first time round either, fookin 2 bob moderators :D
The local evening telegraph is full of it today.
My favourite bits :
37 incidents in 39 days.
He was drunk BEFORE, DURING & AFTER games.....
AND at training.
While I agree it's a bit of a sin the way he is now, he should never have got back into football in his current mental state.
Mind you, having just considered it properly, you'd HAVE to be a bit pissed and MAD to want to go to Kettering in the first place ![]()
